    個日最後去" 窩山",見到架小巴去旺角,本來想坐車唔再行條斜路,怕怕.........跟住TIM仔話去VV,咁我地就去了YMCA食o野,休息下,對腳仲好累,想起條斜路,到是唔考慮了


    "富威花園"無去呀,睇下sunday陳小姐又同我去邊度睇啦,好似有間在何文田山.

    是呢,個間ymca多唔多小朋友的course???我見到好似有跳舞班,唔知學費貴唔貴呢???

佢地嘅 swimming 有 12 levels...每 finish one level 會有証書....較有系統...係暖水池..

呢間入會係 $20 一年 only, 平過尖沙咀港青 (佢地係以"家庭"為入會單位, 成 $1,xxx per year), course fee 亦貴過中青, 但佢地既 swimming course 亦好受家長歡迎~~

但你要注意....中青要 4 歲起先收架喎....我地個 K1 BB 唔學得住噃......    除非你同佢參加"親子班"喇...即係你都要一齊落水架...你制唔制先~~    唔制就不如齊齊等多年先喇...嘻嘻...

Dear 彥彥媽咪 & Icecream,

YMCA of HK offers swimming course for 3~5 years without parent accompany (need to follow them to the changing room though).

The website is www.ymcahk.org.hk. You can find various courses they offered. I've enrolled Sofia to swimming, ballet & gym-tot for the mth of July & August.

For books & uniform, yes, I also opt to purchase from PC. Save transportation costs!!

If your children are still on PM session, perhaps we could meet on 1/Sept for tea.

I wonder if the school bus can arrange pick-up & drop off at different location, i.e. pick-up at location A & drop-off after school at location B. Must call the bus company to check it out.

Abt sport shoes, do you think they will accept pink base instead of white? I just bought a pair of pink base Puma sport shoes for Sofia. If it's ok then there's no need to buy an extra pair la...

When will you go to PC to pay the books & miscellaneous items fees & purchase uniform? I wonder if people usually go on the 1st day (5/Jun), I want to avoid the crowd but worried that they might not have enough stock of uniform on 8/Jun. My girl is a "petit", only 90cm at this moment (6 weeks pre-mature ah! 28/Aug was her due date).

I never join any courses in YMCA HK cos Chinese YMCA situates much nearer to us and offers a number of quality courses at a relatively cheaper price....For Chinese YMCA in YMT, 4+ is the min age to start swimming (w/o parents' companion)

Hey.....your little one should be still below 3 years old in July bor (her due date is 28/8 as you said?), so will that be a bit too quick for her to join that?  

Well...just to share my views ==>...for swimming, there is no harm to let her start later..in fact, many learners in Henry's class (my elder son) when he first starts at 4 are much older than him!

Pink sport shoes ==> sorry..only white (100% white, not even with stripes) sport shoes is allowed at PC.

When to pay ==> even 80% of people will go on the 1st day, I dun think there will be a long queue for payment, bcos the accounts staff just collect your form and give you the receipt, and that's all - simple and easy (they used to write up a lot of receipts before you arrive).  No worry here.

Out of stock ==> if PC asks you to go on those dates they suggested, they must have prepared for the sudden increase in demand already, so there should be enough stock.

Different pick up points ==> yes...they could do so.  You can talk to them about this.

Regarding kids' swimming, I would have some personal sharing:-

I have an elder girl who is aged 6.  She learnt and progressed swimming quickily when she started to do so at the age of 5.  Besdies, according a professional swimming coach (members of HK team), the best age of learning swimming is age 5 coz the muscle at that age is strong enough (especially the legs) for swimming.  So, I would suggest that is indeed no hurry.  But it will be very fine if you take it as one of the 強身健體 sports or 親子活動。

Yes...28/8 係開學禮...係咁2 一家大細去禮堂聽校長老師講吓嘢 then 就跟班主任上課室去也....whole process about 1 hr only..之後多數就各自散水....

29-31/8 因為其他 K2/K3 班未開學, 所以校車位會較鬆動, 可以俾埋家長坐....但因為多極都唔可能個個家長都坐得哂, 所以佢地唔會白紙黑字咁寫出嚟架.....

1/9 就因為冇校車, so 若家長自己帶就會有 2hrs 要等架喇...so I will suggest to gather on 1/9 .....

about 校服 size
==> 可以的話就帶埋小朋友去喇...但一般嚟講..書局d人都可以 advise you about the right size ga la...若真係唔方便帶小朋友去...then maybe can 帶佢d衫去拚拚丫...反正都唔岩都可以換嘅~~~

Hi 彥彥媽咪 & Cleo,

Sofia wl b 3 on 20/Jul although her due date was 28/Aug as she's 6 weeks premature. Most of the summer classes start on 17/Jul, therefore they'll still accept her for 3 yr old class. However I enrolled her to Aqua-Tot for swimming since I want to be with her more. Today she could jump under water for a second, so I hope she'll get used to the water before she actually join the 3 yr old class. Well, the reason for me to enrol her to swimming class is for her to get used to the water, not so much on swimming skills.

Thx also for letting me know that Kwun Chung do offer different pick-up points for to & from school. I'll check it out when they contact me.
