My girl watched the HP movie trailer many years back and saw Voldemort once and she was scared of HP until now, not even the books. She also watched Narinia and got scared of the white witch, she does not even touch the books.  On the other hand she absolutely adore Eragon series which in fact is much more violent than HP.  She did not see the Eragon movie and she does not want to.


Therefore my usual advice is to let the children see the movie only after they read the books.

Same here. My gal was also addicted to reading HP series and watching HP movies last summer holidays and had read the whole set of books for several times.

My son loves George and the Universe series because he likes to know more about the universe.  Recently, he finds that "I funny" written by James Patterson" is interesting.

If you have been searching it through standard web browser, please forget it. Instead, try the below.

1. if you have not yet installed Amazon Windowshop in iPad, please install it now.
2. Log on Windowshop withnyour kindle account.
3.  Please look at the basket icon on the top right hand corner to see if you are in US Kindle store. If not
, please tap the menu button on top right hand corner and click the Amazon store to change country to US.
4. In the searching box, please enter Hans Andersen's fairy tales to start the search and you will see the book under the kindle store column. (Besides, you can enter 'free kindle books' to search all free sbooks for kindle too. You can find many free classics there.)

Not this one.

I saw the following titles:

1. Hans Andersen's fairy tales First series
2. Hans Andersen's fairy tales Second series
3. Andersen's fairy tales

However after adding them to my wish list, I further checked and found they are not available for APAC customers. Sorry for not checking further before informing you. However, I know there are other free ebook sources for this kind of classics. Will check later tonight.

Which library did you go to?
I encountered similar issue when went to Ngau Tau Kok library but another lib allows me to use other's card to borrow books.

Thanks Huba! I actually have found another version to fill up the gap but if possible, I would really like to have the original Penguin classics one.

There is some difference really:

Verison A:

There was once a darning-needle who thought herself so fine that she fancied she must be fit for embroidery. " Hold me tight," she would say to the fingers, when they took her up, "don't let me fall; if you do I shall never be found again, I am so very fine."



Veersion B:

There was once a darning needle who put on such a lot of airs that she fancied she was a sewing needle.
"Now, just mind what you're holding!" said the darning needle to the fingers that took her out. "Don't drop me! If I fall on the floor I'm capable of never being found again, I'm so fine!"

which do you prefer?

you are not comfortable with the "Library cards for Guarantor's use" ?With these, your helper can continue to pick up books for your kids, not for you though...
and I think they are free!

If I must choose between these two versions for my child's reading, I would pick version A.

As Puffin books are under Penguin books, wonder if the books listed through the below link helps:

Oh, I didn't know that Puffin and Penguin are related. They are not the same but yes,the Puffin one is good, I will retype my gap with it! Thanks Huba!
