Agreed w/ spiderlily.

Don't worry too much.   We all experienced the same as yours last year.  They're still little boys/girls so we have to provide guidance and suggetions to them.  

Try not directly tell yr son the answer / how to complete the questions, but try to brain-strom with him to think more before writing down.

I recalled I helped my boy a lot at this time last year (in P1) as he didn't know what was expected.  He does by himself this year except asking for spelling of some words.

Somestimes it is easier said than done, but always try to make yourself and your son feel good and positive, as we perform better when we are in the mood.

As WD40 and Spiderlily rightly pointed out he is only P1, proper guardiance is vital at this stage.

So always be positive :loveliness: and always think of a reason that makes you feel better.

Unfortuately my son cannot be taught the hard way such as shouting etc... and the traditional ways that we are being treated by our parents does the negative, so I have no choice but to find the alternative. Of course, I have my moment and lose my temper with him but I've learnt to hold it and tell him so when it happens and stress how upset I am & why. So far this works well to bring him to understand his mistakes. I have learnt this from the last seminar workshop organised by the school. I will attend the one on the 19th as well - enotice posted on the intranet.

But your son seems to be self motivated and doing well at school so your way with him seems to be working very well. So keep it up!   As being a parent now days is not simple task.

Learnt late last night that Maths quiz is coming this Fri and it is all about multiplications.

My boy is still managing 4s and 8s.  He need to quickly catch up on, 3s, 6s, 7s and 9s.

He refused to memorize.  He told me he can think (I think by summation).  Ah ya... time is a concern.

Don't worry.  Kids have their own ways to remember something.  I also just finished revision w/ my boy.  Again, wish he will complete the quiz more carefully....

My son love the MJ performance as well! He shown to me the programme immediately when I got home. A shame that I couldn,t make it.

The English dictation is quite ok as many of the words were learnt before e.g. Christmas, tradition, reindeer, snowman, holiday, relatives...

Have no idea on GS guiz as the topic is quite vague.  Perhaps, a tour to Toy're Us can help.

We are going to Seoul for a snowy Christmas, hope it gets natural snow by then.  Sapporo is a better choice but JPY is too strong.  What about you?

My boy may fail in the Maths quiz.
