Yes you're right that there's not many extra-curricular activities for children under 4yrs old.  That's why I wanted him to stay longer in school instead of watching TV at home.  Besides, my mother (who is now taking care of my son) can have more time to do her things.

I'll let my son take half day class in LN.  If he's ok, I'll probably let him take whole day class in  K1.  However, I'm not sure if he's too young who was born in Dec2002.

Will your daughter take whole day international class, whole day bilingual class, or half and half?  How much is the school fee and books?  Are there any other fee, eg. lunch and tea?

My girl is studying bilingual and international, half and half, $5000 per month including all lunch and tea.  Other fees are books, school bag and uniform.  Books cost around $1000 per term starting K1, quite expensive!

If my son takes whole day class, I'll also let him study bilingual and international, half and half.  School fee is my big concern.  $5,000 per month is 真係幾肉痛.

I still don't understand why the books are so expensive.  $1,000 per terms means $2,000 per year.

I also don't know which type of primary school yet, but I choose to take half Chinese, half English, so hope to get a balance in both language and decide later.  Anyway, good English standard is quite important for future, so I just want to build a good foundation for my girl to help her getting into good quality primary, not necessarily be very famous schools.

For fees, it seems to be expensive, but if I need to take my kid to join other English classes after school, the total cost is more expensive.  So I choose whole day.  You may try for some time and see if it is effective.

I'll let my son to study local primary school.  My plan is K1 half day bilingual, K2 half day bilingual + half day international.  I'm wondering if  my son takes whole day class from K1.

I'll arrange 課外活動 on weekend so that I can bring my son by myself.  I don't want my mother to be busy on this.

Will your son stay in Think for K1 or go to Delia?

LN's book fee is just for preparing porfolio, we've got a few books free.

For K1, they have Chinese books, phonics, CDs, porfolio, homework, etc.  so they charge so much.  But I also feel that this is too much.  They give me a list of the items, but not in very detail.

So may be all moms concerning this can ask together when we have parents meeting to see if we can ask the school to reduce the misc. fee, e.g. porfolio fee is new this year, does it really need to be so much and charged every term?

For books cost, I don't know much so don't have grounds to disagreed with the school , not sure if K2 and K3 moms feel expensive or not.  Maybe they want to charge more here as to earn a bit more la. :cry:

I haven't thought about the primary school.  I'm now living in MaOnShan and will be moving to somewhere near my mother (in Cho Yiu Estate).   I have to see where we live first.

How about you?  Which school net is your home under?  Will you apply DSS?

Will move around Apr to Jun.  My first choice is Think 樓上 (ie. 盈暉臺) but there's not much flats for rental.  We can't afford to buy lah so only rent.  MeiFoo is also ok but the flats are very old.  Other choices are 宇晴軒, 泓景臺 and 昇悅居.

Yes, the primary school net of Cho Yiu is no good but the secondary school net is ok.

I learnt the word "DSS" in BK.  Haha!  It's the short form of 直資.  So will you try 直資 and 私校?  However, it's quite expensive too.  Oh, money, money, money...

How much of each photo if I don't pay $100?  I don't think they'll take too many photos for a student in a year ma.

Anyway, I talked to a colleague who's daughter is studying in 青衣啟思.  She also has to pay for the photo and portfolio.  Last year, she's got an album with 10-20 photos of her daughter.  There're description and decoration on it.  She's also got a file holding her daughter's work and performance in the whole year.

She can't remember the amount of these fees but should be similar to Think.

I've seen another colleague's book list of St. Catherine which costs $6xx for K1.  However, she's not sure if there'll be more.
