Dear All,

For the Hong Kong School Speech Festival to be held in the upcoming November/December, after submitting the application form to the school, just heard that there will be several standard "speech materials" stipulated by the organiser.

1) When will the school inform us the content of these "speech materials"
In the coming 1-2 weeks??

2) Will the English in-charge teacher recommend one "speech material" to each pupil who will join the competition based on certain criteria?
Or parent can choose this for the kid?

Can anyone please advise on this?

不是form, 是通告, 只是通知有這個比賽, 如你join it, 將回條交回学校 去索取正式的form, 這張form 不會這樣早得  到的,因要由学校集齊再向主辦机構索取. 不用心急吧!

Dear Principal,

My daughter in P.4 has got this content on yesterday because she is choosen by school for solo competition. (It means that the fee will be paid by school only.)  But in last year, she also chose by school, but she got the content very late. I don't know why.  If for a few weeks you still haven't received it, I suggest you better ask your class teacher.

The teacher will not recommend any speech material because just only one, it is nominated by the speech association. You will find that during the day of this competition, all the students (about 60) in the hall are telling this poem.

Many thanks for your information.

Somehow, I found one sheet of paper from my girl's school bag today.
It reads as "1-2 Girls Solo" and the topic is
"As tasty as a picnic".
There are only 8 short sentences in it.
Looks like this is the "speech material".

For P1 pupil, I guess the school may not choose any pupil to represent the school as the teacher may not know each pupil's level.

If so, is it common to learn some skills from private tutor before the competition?

If yes, any recommendation on the courses/private tutors??

Dear Principal,

I agreed  that it is the material for speech festival, actually, all the students can join this competition, the difference between school solo team and non-school team is school will give them training and pay the fee for them only. ( I think that for P.1, our school will not have school team)

You may train your kid by yourself or private tutor, I knew that there are some private 補習社 has concentrated on this training, you may ask for some information.

:idea: 大家記得要去呀. 如果想知今年學校政策,了解多d,就要參與,千萬唔好對學校估估下,有好多家長唔參加,到後知後覺先問點解,其實好多嘢學校可能已經plan咗架啦. :idea: 為孩子做個積極家長呢
