The procedure takes around 30 mintues (my son's case, he had seen an eye doctor and another 視光師 before I visited Philip, I reported my situation to him.) Actutally the procedure is similar to an adult's one but more comprehensvice with the checking on color-blindness, eye muscle, eye coordination, etc.
In the case of KAKAMUM, because her daughter with same degree "check2隻眼都有散光, 約200度". My doctor also said this is a kind of borderline case to choose whether to wear eye glasses. (just like many adults do not like to wear glasses even short-sighted) But my son with one eye 散光 only, he must put on glasses otherwise the 散光眼 will become lazy eye (散光眼 give up its power and depends on the good eye only, 散光眼 will never see thing clearly again even put on eye glasses after the eyes have been fully developed around the age of 7!)
My 視光師 is referred by my colleague whose son also have 散光 of about 350度, quite serious and he found that 視光師 is OK and reliable, so I also follow him lor! His shop is not so big (Tsuen Wan) and with medium range of choice in glass-frame, but enough for children and I see many students (primary to secondary) to have regular check-up there. Actually I have asked 藝視 to do the check-up for my son, the man there seems not so confident and said my son under 5 years old, he needs me to give doctor's reference (paper given by the doctor to recommend the degree and situation, in such case that means he will only follow doctor's instruction but not a second opinion! so I ask friend to introduce the present one for me!)My doctor recommend to put on 200度 eye-glasses but Philip found that my son's case is around 150-200, it is more safe to put on 150 at a start. After 4 months, his eye improved 2 lines of reading (he cannot read that line even put on eye glasses months before treatment, putting on eye-glasses give stimulation to the eye and train it to see things again)
The examination fee is around $100-150, it can be deducted from the bill if you buy eye glasses there. If the eyes are perfect, then congratulations but you have to pay the fee. The puchase of eye-glasses include one more time of check-up several months later. For the third time of check-up, you will properly need to buy another pair of eye-glasses for the kid becasue his head becomes bigger, the glasses with crashed marks or even broken after 9-12 months!
