I am an old girl of St Mary's too.  I want to let my daughter to enter this school.  Would you mind to tell me whether it's important to have an address approval of living in Yau Tsim Mong?  Thanks.

You may submit your form in first round which have no relationship of where you leave.

If you are catholic (25 marks), you should have a very high chance of getting a place (this is my case).  If you are not catholic (20 marks), you still have a chance (depending on the number of application this year because a lot of 20 marks catholic + first born).  They claim that you will enter a draw with other applications with same marks.

If you are unlucky, you need to go to 2nd round which depends on your living location.  Only 10% of the places left are for those living outside Yau Tsim Mong so the chance is small...You can still change your address at that time but edu will check it carefully.

Good luck!  I am sending in my form for my younger tomorrow and hope to be classmate with your daughter next year.

Mission,

My understanding is a bit different.  I think they are going to put up notice to the Intranet only to save the work for photocopy and save paper.

I don't think they will put up the homework for each class.

When my daughter is in P1.  I check her diary with another mom every night to make sure that they have not missed anything.  Sometimes the works are so difficult that the children may missed some key words or missed the whole item.

There are occassions that both moms need to guess what they mean or call the third mom.

The PTA will be held in the hall together (not one to one).  The teacher of each subject will explain what they teach, what they expect and what's the coverage in test/exam.

In the end, there will be a Q&A session where parent can raise their specific question.  After the PTA, you may approach your own teacher to understand the situation of your own child.  However, time is limited as it ends 8:30 to 9:00 and the teacher tell you that they have a lot more work to do.

Thanks so much for the information provided. You are very helpful. You act as a light in the dark for us. How about the first exam in Dec? Any tips? Anything has to be careful? Outsiders said St. Mary is very tough. The puplis compete for not 1 mark. They compete for fraction in terms of marks. Am I right?

For the PTA, that is very wonderful to have a chance to talk with the teacher. I am looking forward to it and meet some mothers. I still have not known any mother from 1A. Too bad!!!

I guess an extra class for Chinese is those students who need extra assistance on this subject. Am I right?

I was told by a P5 student that it is the idea of the headmistress to have extra class for student if they need special assistance.  It applies to P1 - P6.

Yes, the pressure is great in SMCS, starting from the first dict because every mark in the dict will be counted in the exam.  Our place in the final drop by 13 places last year because of a drop in overall average by 1.4.  So you can image.

All Eng dict are unseen.  Chi dict are from text book only
