I want to knit a small scarf for my son's use at school, but not sure about the colour.  Dark blue or yellow?

I fully understand your situation.  Even though I haven't sat aside to watch my son doing homeworks, I would ask my helper to motivate him, say let him eat his favourite snacks, play his favourite toys, etc. just right after finishing homeworks.  Sometimes the methods are work, but sometimes not.  But I still have the faith that he could have improvements after a period of time.

I think, as ECHAN369 said, the quantity of homeworks in K3 may not be the same as K2 and those maybe more difficult.  So, I do have to learn how to shorten his finished time.

Anybody can share.

jjvccma, CHKWAN,

I would recommend not to put any "attractive" things around him when he is doing homework.  I let my son to do homework in his bedroom, without TV, toys, food, noise ......

My son can finish 1 page writing within 10 mins.  I used a clock (a stop-watch type) to train his time management.  Usually, I set 15 mins for him to finish 1 page writing, the clock would countdown and "bip" him every 5 mins.  He would like to finish his writing before the 2nd "bip" sound, like a competition with the clock.  Then, set the clock again for the 2nd piece homework and so on.

Hope this method is useful to you too.

Hi AugSun,

You're very great to find such website!  You know I tried to look for their website prior to enrolling this kinder for my son last year, I couldn't find it at last.  I just consulted my friend, whose son is the old boy of SJCK, about the details of the school.  

SJCK only has K2 and K3.  How old is your son?  Is it time for him to apply K2 this year?  If so, you may try to get details from school in person early January 2008.

CHKWAN,

Ian can do the writing homework by himself now, no need to monitor him.  I will only guide him in doing the worksheets.

BTW, my son told me that he was being punished by Miss Chan this Monday.  He told me that there was sth happened between my son, your son and Kan Lok To.  But he don't want to tell me in detail what was exactly happened .

I would like to appy for 2008 K2.
Based on the existing point system, if my son only got 15 points, will he has the change to go to Primary school (if was too luckily to be accepted by SJ kindergarten).

I noticed that 70-80% of kindergarten students may be able to go to primary school, are they having higher point (> or equal 15 points)?  Or were they gone thru the 'locking door" process?

Hi mamay,

I find that the competition for seats in SJCP in the 1st round is very keen this year, even somebody are holding 20 points, they may not get seats.  This is because of the deduction of classes (from 8 to 5) in the coming school year.   

It is hard to foresee students in SJCK would have favour to get seats in SJCP, you know seats remain in the 3rd round may be scarce, if they fail in 1st and 2nd rounds.  So, at this stage, I just keep waiting for the results.

If you decide to let your boy study in SJCK, please pay attention to the release date of application details, which will be posted outside the school in early January 2008.  Good luck to you!!

Oh, God!  Now Ian is naughty at school too.  I think he knows that it was his fault, so he don't want to tell me what had happened.  But, it is strange that Miss Chan didn't call me.  Is it very common everyday at school ?

How do u think their maths writing homework today?  I found it is too much for their age.  The grid is too small, and they need to write 1-5 for 20 times, total 100 words.

CHKWAN,

Ian sometimes get all words correct, and sometimes 1 word wrong.  But, it is all about poor writing, not because of he don't know the word.  Like one time, he wrote the "W" too wide, the "T" touched the red line, the "6" like a "b", and the "小" 's tick too long....

But, for my standard, he is ok.  As long as he knows the words, just by time past, he could write better.
