so we may miss the 2nd interview if the 2nd interview letter get lost,  as we don't if the application is rejected in the first round.

it's because, if we don't receive any letter in late Nov, we don't know if we are rejected or lose the 2nd interview letter??

Exactly... some schools (e.g. TSL) already announced the date that they would release the 1st interview result.

just called St. Paul co-ed. They said that they would call you if you did not turn up (if you were invited for the 2nd interview).

Re: St. Paul's Co-ed Interview

According to St.Paul's co-ed's teacher, tomorrow 18th Oct will be the last day of the 1st interview.  So some member said that the 2nd round interview letter will be sent from 18th Oct should be true.  Let's wait and see.

Re: St. Paul's Co-ed Interview

Finally it is done!

It took us about 2 hours staying at St.Paul this afternoon.  While I was waiting, I had the feeling that girls looked much more smarter than boys.

Nearly all girls wore beautiful dress, nice hair pins ... which gave an attractive look.  And they, sitting quietly and politely, read books while waiting.

For boys, they dressed in rather similar pattern.  Many boys worn 'Polo' brand ... polo-shirts, short sleeves shirts, long sleeves shirts... and mainly in blue or white.  While waiting, they walked here and there and two of them even attempted to play "Cloth, Sissors, Stone" at the stairs!!

Do they accept boys & girls in 50:50 ratio?

Re: St. Paul's Co-ed Interview

Mrs Wong

I share your feeling. On my son's interview day, half of the boys were dressed causally and not behaved properly!

My son told me that during the reading time, 2 of the boys didn't follow the teachers' instruction to sit and read!

My son has told the principal that he liked SPCC very much! I hope he can be shortlisted for 2nd interview ... very nervous!

Yes, 50% boys an 50% girls.  Sometimes even one more boy in class.  My girl told me that some girls and boys in class are very active (e.g. there are boys flying paper aeroplane while teacher is writing on the blackboard), but teachers very accommodating in primary one.

Re: St. Paul's Co-ed Interview

Yes,most of the girls dressed very nicely. Boys were with shirt and trousers, sort of the office wear. Even parents dressed nicely, especially the mom.
My son went in for about 1 hr. He enjoyed the interview and he thought it's fun.
He told me that they read book while waiting to talk with teacher. The teacher just ask simple questions like his name, age and what he does at weekend. Then teacher read book to him and ask him questions reagrding the story content. He aslo mentioned there's cards game.
Good luck to all the boys and girls.

Re: St. Paul's Co-ed Interview

After interviewing several schools, I also found out that the parents and kids in SPCC were wearing the most beautiful/sincerely dress.  Meanwhile, some kids wore the same dress/cloth in the same school.  Perhaps most of the parents bought the dress/cloth at the same chain store.  I can't buy one before my daughter's interview as I make up my mind quite late.  She just wore a 斯文 2 pieces dress (not the new one).  Would it affect the chance?

Of course not!! It's not a fashion show. Nobody knows/cares whether your dress is newly brought or not. For my son,I brought new shirt and trouser for him to interview, but finally I just let him wear which I think he would feel comfortable.

Good luck!

Dear all,

Do you know what kind of questions the Headmistress will ask during the 2nd interview?

eemay, I agree!  And you know what, I did the same, ha ha ha... I felt so uncomfortable and bought some new clothes for my kid for interview purpose, but then I found my kid felt pretty nervous when I put "interview clothes (something like school uniform -_-)" on him, so I decided to dress him "neatly (clean and nicely pressed)" and "smart (more colorful)" for the interview.  We would go 街街 after the interview that day anyway I thought...

Re: St. Paul's Co-ed Interview

The only thing to do is ..................."WAIT"

My son has his interview long time ago,the duration was very short (35mins) and not required to read books. Just "8",what kind of books the headmistress asked your kids to read. Is it picture book with only few simple words ?

Re: St. Paul's Co-ed Interview

The duration of my son's interview is about 1 hr. He said he has played a game with 3 kids. He said the game is difficult but funny .... a kid was cried after playing the game.

Then he was asked to sit and wait. During the waiting time, he told me that he had read a couple of books. All books are in Chinese, but he only likes reading English books! too bad ... so he just looked at the pictures!

The principal asked him some simple and general questions and gave him a picture to test his short-term memory. After that, the pincipal read a story to him and ask him some questions about the story!
