Do you know the detail of admission test?

I can only tell you that the admission test includes a written test and an interview with a teacher. I do not know the details though since parents/adults can only wait at the reception area. And I am unable to get much details from the kids.

I can't help much but I can tell you a bit about  lower elementary class's interview. It's what my daughter told me.  Two boys and three girls in her group and all of them spoke good english. The examiner's a nice and friendly lady.  Their oral conversations were all some general things, such as hobby, current school life and etc.

In written test part, it's a comprehension test. It's not an easy one. She said she couldn't find some of answers from the eassy.  She must think and use her own words to answer the questions.  

By the way, she enjoyed her interview very much and she said she loves to be one of students in RC.

Grade 1 and Grade 4.  They attended the  interview already. I am waiting for the result.

RC is expanding and do you know how many classes more in the coming year.

How many candidates attended the 1st round interview?

IC.  I heard that they are going to expand at least one class each Grade.  I think the max. class size for Grade 6 is 27.

I don't know how many candidates attended the 1st round interview but it seems quite a lot for year 1 in 2nd round. My daughter attended Year 4's interview in the morning.  Most of candidates in her group were from ISs.  I will receive the result after Easter holiday.

According to Peter Kenny (and what I saw when I last visited the campus), they have 2 more classes (may be except Year 2 next year, since Year 1 this year is quite full I think) to expand for most year groups next year. But they are not going to do it at one shot. They are going to let the school grow gradually. So it might take 2 or more years to expand into full capacity.

So I think that is why they are making the admission tests difficult this year so that they can really pick the ones with competent English standard.

I know that many international schools arrange for local overseas trip or even overseas trip for their students.

How about RC?

And can anyone share how the Year 7 admission test/interview was like?

Will mandarin teaching starts from P1 in RC?  Have heard some saying that P1 will use Cantonese and Mandarin will start only from P2. Can any RC parents clarify?

我喜歡那舞台, 很專業; 小女孩的鋼琴彈得感情豐富, 不知幾歲了? 看起來很小; 那位男司儀哥哥領著小學女司儀時很有風度, 他給我的感覺很好; 管絃樂隊的指揮好像是新的音樂老師, 小提琴專業; 我喜歡新的網站, 尤其是那主題音樂, 棒極了, 才七個月校方又把水平提高了; 麥列菲菲的講話......普通話就更........了; 李寶椿學校的舞獅表演只有鼓沒鑼沒鈸, 氣氛不夠;  流行樂隊歌手還需要時間磨練主要是自信少了點, 他們真愛唱廣東歌; 校長的發言很到位: 好學校靠的是"人";  

最後, 原來全校師生都會唱:heal the world, 不上台的孩子要站在原位一起唱!

很完整, 教職員們一定忙壞了, 感謝他們!

My husband and I also went there. Did not expect such a crowd ! My son was the one who handed the present to 麥列菲菲. He was so nervous ! He said cos' there are over 2,000 people ! We had to arrive school at 4pm for the 'rehearsal' and then sat there and waited for almost 2 hours for the show to begin. But both my husband and I think it worths the waiting as we really like the show. Of course they are not professional, but we really appreciate the passion, commitment and hard work behind the whole thing. And I'm sooooo impressed by the teamwork among the principals, the teachers, the staff and the students ! And I think it's a good idea to involve students in every program of the day. I can feel that the students enjoyed it a lot. And it can really foster a strong sense of belonging to the school. I particularly like the last part when all the students were singing "heal the world", very amazing and touching. My son also sang at his seat. All three of us left school with a smile on our faces, I also see smiles on the other people in the school and the KCR when we were leaving...It's an impressive night. It reinforces my good feeling with the school.

I have 2 children in RCHK. My daughter was in choir in yesterday's grand opening. I felt very proud especially when it was when Mr Kenny gave his speech.
