As I stay at home all the time due to Wing Wing's sickness, my mobile phone will be powered off.  I will turn on it to receive your SMS then.

If majority can't join, may be you can reschedule the lunch to next week and don't wait for me la.  (Of course, I also like small team.  You may remember that Critic, Monica, you and I started our SH mommy club gathering in last November....)

It's very slow to access BK now. I did not log on during the past couple days and have missed many messages. I need to spend about 4 mins to open a page in BK. Perhaps it is better to log in at the mid-night.

Oh...it's difficult for me to open internet, as my daughter was not willing to sleep on bed (she prefered my arms more :-|) in daytime! Today is lucky, she is quite cooperative, then, found that I have missed so many messages once reading it! BTW, thank for inviting me to your lunch gathering, however, I will not be free tmr, hopefully we can meet up in next week! This Saturday, my husband will have a business trip to TW and JP for one week, and leave me and my little girl alone! So sad :cry: !

One of my friends, she is a mom-to-be (now is in 12-week pregnancy, similar as Velma), would like to join our gathering too. However, she is from Venezuala, would you mind to let her join in??? She loves kids so much, but just don't know Cantonese, English is fine to her! If okay, next time I will come with her! She must have a lot of questions to ask you all!!!

I might have the chance to transfer to Shanghai.  Now my company wants me to propose the package of the salary.  

Please anyone tell me which school your children is attending and how much is the school fee per month?
I have 2.  One is 2 years old and one is 7 month.

How much to hire 1 local helper?  Do they still overnight?

How much to rent a flat in Shanghai with 800 square feet?

Usually how many times will the company pay for the air-ticket per year?

How about the salary tax? Do I need to pay both places?  Is it possible to ask my company to pay the salary in HK to me?

You are better to have a site visit before you make any decision. Buy a map, find out where the office is located, visit the realty estate agents and search out the nearby kindergartens. I'm afraid the 800 sq feet apartment is too small to u. Please refer to our previous messages and u will find out most of the answers u r looking for.

By the way, better to consult with your company's accountant/financial controller regarding with the tax and salary issue.

I miss your lovely baby! I suggest u to leave the baby in the bed when she is 3 mth+. Let her crys but no more than 10 mins. You will distinguish her crying for hug, for milk or for sleeping.

Whenever your husband is out of town, make sure your close friends and close neighbours are in town. Just in case for any emergency helps.

We welcome all kind of persons, see so many mamas coming but I am leaving.  Your husband will out of SH, call me if needed.  I can take RMB12 taxi to you place.  About your daughter, you better let her lie on bed more, this is good for her spine.  If she cries for your hug, try to give her some black&white or sharp colors toys.  Do you have the musical toy hanging on top of her bed?　This is very good, my daughter loved hers (chicco) very much.

It is a good idea to go to the park on Sat. However, not sure about the weather tmr. It may be cloudy but not rainy.

The entrance fee for Century Park is RMB10/adult. Child who is below 1.2m is free of charge.

Yes, I do give her some toys to let her calm down, e.g. musical winding toys hanging up on bed and soft rabbit toys near her pillow, and sometimes it works, esp. at night! Hm...I think I have to follow what Joanne said and leave her cry alone on bed, otherwises, I must have sore arms soon! Most importantly, I will be out-of-date of your latest news as not able to search internet!!!
Ya...I absolutely welcome you to come to my place at anytime, as I am always alone at home and not willing to go out by holding my little girl! So, if anyone of you is free, come come come! I will ask my mate to cook 老火湯, it's delicous

Dear all,

Personally I wish to come to our gathering.  However, my daughter is sick and she is supposed to stay at home for two weeks (next Friday is the last day of the period).    For safe, both of my daughter and I will not attend the gathering.  I don't want any of your kids have chance of being infected......  

I will bring my daughter to see doctor tomorrow.  If her progress is OK and she can go to school on or before next Friday, I will come then.  Don't count me first.  If I can come, I will let you know.

I will be moving to SH in Aug and my Mandarin is still not very good. Any one can recommend me a teacher to teach me mandarin in SH ?

I can't speak Mandarin when I was in HK but I can understand. When I first arrived, I hired a tutor, an hour a day (Rmb100 per hour). I learned 2 weeks but did not see any improvment.  I am not trying speak like a native, I just want people to understand me but she kept on adjusting my pronunication, e.g. "water" for 10 minutes.   For a Mandarin beginner, I really can't tell the difference between roll and not roll the tongue. (But now, I do understand) So, I have decided to learn on my own. I bought a set of CD rom to study at home.   Plus, I decided not to speak English in office and only talk to them in Mandarin and pick-up very fast.

If you don't have to work, you can attend some full day (morning from 9-12) course but they are quite expensive.  I can post you their website when I back to office on Monday.

Dear All Mommies,

I came back to HK from SH.  I have already rent the house in 古北.  It is very tired to find the house due to so many supply.  It is very different between HK and SH for rental.  I only need to bring the suitcase and kitchen things, I can live in the new apartment.  Also, I can buy all things in Carrefour then don't worry about so much.  I are very surprise to find the organic food in there.
