之前,yamimama說樂器考試可以用鋼琴,但今天我致電音樂外進修課程有關老師,她說,不可以用鋼琴,而是用其他樂器,那真是叫人苦惱,請問有沒有其他媽媽可以回答呢?學琴已花了不少時間,不想再浪費$及時間了!

Sorry for not replying promptly due to BK is always down.

Don't ask 音樂外進修課程有關老師. She is not KTS teacher. She answers for her business interest only. BTW, if you already have music tuner and want to apply the music courses, just omit the reply form which she "ticked" must buy. You don't have to buy it again.

Regarding music instruments tests in school, the school music teacher replied: They have NO intention to change the current rule. So, piano is acceptable to take the school test.

But, they encourage the students to learn other musical instruments because many P6 students came back and complained their unpleasent secondary school interviews.

The P6 kids said many secondary principals asked them what musical instruments they learnt. When they answered paino (even attained 6th level), the principals said paino is not counted, what else they have learned? They answered nothing and felt upset.

That's why KTS encourage students to learn something else (doesn't mean to give up piano) in order for the preparation of the secondary school interviews many years later.

This is exactly what I don't like about the current
situation.  Kids have different interests, some like
music, some like sports, some like art, some like
performing....etc.  Why do they have to spend
time on something they are not interested,
especially when time is so limited?  If you want
to be good at something, you need to spend
a lot of time on it.  How could our kids be good
at everything?

多謝你的分析,今天我又致電kts音樂科的黃老師,她說鋼琴是可以作為樂器考試,她又說有關音樂校外進修課程老師或誤解,黃老師說即使是小三.小四.小五....也可以用鋼琴考試,我立時relax!打擾你們呀!
