今個星期六是 St. Patrick's Day，目的是紀念愛爾蘭守護神 St. Patrick，在當地是國家假期。為隆重其事，愛爾蘭多個城市在 3 月 15 日至 19 日期間都會慶祝，節目包括巡遊、音樂會、舞蹈、街頭劇場、喜劇、嘉年華及尋寶遊戲等，共約有 400 名表演者和 100 萬人一同歡度佳節。

　　其實在加拿大、美國、法國、英國以至莫斯科和烏拉圭都會有類似的慶祝活動，這個紀念日的主題顏色是綠色，因此亦以三葉草（Shamrock）為標誌，應節食物更是多姿多采，其中有很多是以愛爾蘭最聞名的薯仔及啤酒為主的菜式，包括黑啤牛肉、薯仔牛肉湯、愛爾蘭式燜牛肉雜菜、青
