其實我曾經都看過一些書教人要教學前兒童緊記名字,電話和地址 ! 但個人覺得前二者已足夠而已!

同意! 但明顯地校長問地址這問題就是要小朋友講給人知 ! (當然也可能是要考小朋友的反應 ! 果真如此, 教了小朋友清楚地說出full address 的家長可能就捉錯用神了!)

正如前面所提過,問地址會有一些副作用! 另外, 我感興趣的是校長會給答full address 和 partial address 的學生不同分數嗎 ? 可能兩個學生在各方面都同樣卓越,只不過答 partial address 的同學是考慮到私隱問題及對陌生人有一種介心而決定答partial address , 而答full address 的同學可能是因為前一晚爸媽努力地要她記實,並無論如何有問必答的結果! 如是這樣, 答partial address  的應是更優秀!

In my daughter's class, 10 out of 14 girls were accepted by DGJS.  Good luck !

I think even 5 years old need to know the address even not for the interview. Of course, we need to tell them not to mention the whole address to any stranger unless in special situation, e.g. with parent's approval, get lost and need to ask for help say from police....

My son's case was of course not DGJS but I think the principle is the same.

I just think there is no use to spend time 'optimizing' this one single question, or any canned questions. Suppose you were the principal and ask 'Where do you live?' and there are 3 candidates:

A) One very 呆 but he memorize the full address and can answer all canned questions without thinking;
B) One very cheerful but can't tell the exact address as in the application form;
C) One very wealthy but don't want to talk;

Which one would you choose?

At the end, luck is a major factor in interview, but I think the child's social skill could really improve his odds.

I am always wondering how can the principal know the background of their parent so detailed. Actually, what information (in this regard) is required to furnish in the application form?

I think only name, position and employer.  If so, these information are already enough to tell a lot about the background.

Yes, what I meant is only the last year result.  Of course, I don't know why the other 4 were not accepted by DGJS.  But, as far as I know, they were also accepted by other good schools.

If so, I don't know then how the principal can judge. For position, a director in a company may not be superior than a manager in another co. Besides, unless people who are working in the holding co. of those blue chip listed co, otherwise I don't think the principal can know the size of a company by just looking at its name. So without the major information - salary, no one can really know how senior the position is.

What is more important, I guess the school cannot require an applicant to provide proof of these information as this could be suspected for discimination. So  I doubt how can the principal get to know the detail backgound (unless the applicant is a celebrity but it must be just in a very limited proportion)

So, the key point is whoever makes the information obvious and clear can be granted a seat more easily than whoever doesn't. (P.S. Provided that the performance of the girls are equally well in the first place.)

A position in a well-known big organization may have "more marks" than a higher position in a SME.
