By the way, I finally went to one of the agent near my living area.  Really more convenient as I can keep selecting until I find the one I want.  Once the agent has new files, she scanned and called me to view those files.  I went there 3 times and I already confirmed one maid 2 weeks ago.  Now I am waiting for her visa.    :wink:   How about you?

I also confirmed a maid two days ago.  She is 27 years old and married but separated and no child.  She worked at Lebanon as DH. The agent tells me that she can come before August.  How about yours?

Mine is 24 years old and single.  She is single and a registered teacher in Phillippine but she has little accent.  I want her to act also the private tutor for my elder girl.

My contract with my present maid will be ended on Sept 2.  Since there are a lot of activities in Summer for my 2 girls, I don't want to let her go in mid-August.  I am thinking to have this new one on Sept 1.  Right now is waiting for the visa and the agent said I should get the visa in 2 months, that is early August.

Can you PM me the address on the name card I gave you?  I want to return the VCD and applicants information she sent me but I don't have the address.

I want to get a Phillipine maid too. How can I know do they speak well English without accent??

We went to MSC for the uniform and school bus on 6/14.  Since the hour is 11:00 am - 2 pm, all St. Rose girls must go in the morning.  We were there on 11:30 am and already saw a few of St. Rose girls there.  So, I sent my girl to count the number and gave me their names.  I dropped the list and count that there are 10.  I think the number should be correct as we left aroun 12:30 pm that late.

I have no idea about St. Mary or the number of parents need to get a seat in the 3rd round.  Sorry about that.

Regarding the Phillipine maid, what you need to do is to visit one of the agent and ask them to show you their files.  For me, I will select those with better look, over 5' 2", Catholic, U-grad, single (neither married nor single parent with kids) and with only a few brothers and sisters.  After scanned the files, then you can ask the agent to show you the VCD or tape.  You can hear what them speaking in English.  One of my friend told me that she will ask the agent to call the maid in Phillippine and talk directly with her.  There are also a few agencies put this function in the internet.  If you want to share this experience with me, please PM me your mobile.

It's nice to hear that you will have new helpers.   Hope the girls can go with them well.

My helper came last Sept, she's single (first time I hire single) she's very good playing with Charise, they also laughing even when take bath. On housework she's not bad but sometimes I have to remind her what to do.

Amywonglo, why you choose single?

Before I chose married one, as they have experience but now I will choose single cause the kid become bigger and she can be a playmate.

I don't choose someone with kids, because if the kids are old enough to be dependant, which means the maid will be over 30 or 40.  I choose the maid around mid 20.  If they are married or single parents, their kids will be very young.  Before, I confirmed this one, I actually like one who is married with one kid, but the kid is only 1 year old.  I really want to confirm her as she fit all my requirements except she has kid.  However, my maid and the maid next door advice me not to select one with young kids as one call from Phillippine saying their kids are sick or..., their minds will fly immediately back to Phillippine.  Who will know better than the maids themselves?!  I would like my maid to act more like a sister to my kids instead of with mother love.  So, I choose single instead.

I also don't want someone who is below 5'.  If they are below 5', they look so small and not strong.  I will feel sorry when I see them carrying heavy stuffs.  Sometime, my girls will go to sleep when we are outdoor.  Tivian is over 50 lbs and 4' in height.  Can you imagine a 5' tall maid hugging such a big sleeping kid?  One more advantage I found for taller maid is : when you go to place like Mongkok, you only need to return your head and can locate your maid behind you or not.  If they are short.... you will need to spend a little more time to find them as they are not in your sight. The reason for Catholic is only personal preference as I am Catholic.

I also seek for someone who is not from big family as I don't want my maid has big financial needs.  Smaller family members will lower the risk of them borrow the money from the financial companies.  Of course, this may not be true.  

All these points work very well in my present maid.  I really want her to stay for another contract but she wants to return Phillippine for at least 2 months.  Originally, I think of waiting for her since I plan to quit my job and think I can handle without maid for 2 months.  But my husband said no as she can't confirm that she will return after 2 months and if we seek for a maid when she can't return HK, this will mean I need to handle my girls by myself for 5 - 6 months and he thinks I can't cope with it.  So, we need to find a new one.

Simonne enjoyed it so much.  She kept singing and dancing all night.  She told me that she wants to join the performance for next year.       

By the way, I was told that the number of kinder go to Maryknoll should be 12 instead of 10.

Dear All,

It's nice to see you all on 18th afternoon and the graduation yesterday.

It's a great, fun and very enjoyable . When I saw my sweetheart dancing & singing, I cannot believe she's a big girl.  All the students performed very well and brilliant.  The teachers put many efforts, really appreciated .

It was so touching and I cried .  When I picked her up from the stage, I cried again.  My husband laughs at me and said "she's for performance but seems is her graduation".

Do you know what she said?  First she wipe my tears, second sentence was "Mami I want to eat the chocolate (from the teacher)"

Nothing special on the 6/30.  The function will be held on the hall in Primary school and prizes will be given to some of the kids.  They may play a bit, which I have no idea, but I don't think there will be a performance.  Never heard Tivian mentioned this in the past 2 years.
