Hi,
Can any parent share with me- Is PTH taugh only in Chinese lession? What do you think your kid's progress? Did expose to PTH in KG time?
I'm sure the English level should be good in SSCPS and students are very happy there. I'm getting information for my boys.

PTH, Chinese and S & C S (Social and Cultural Studies) are 3 individual lessons, but taught by the same teacher who speaks in PTH.

Every week, there are at least 14 lessons the students learning in PTH environment.

I'm satisfied from my son's learning progress. Most of the time he can correct me in PTH mistake, and unexpectedly, he has made a best friend in class with a PTH boy (he doesn't speak Cantonese!).  Don't worry if the kid didn't take PTH course before, they can pick it up in the daily lessons gradually.

I don't really worry about my son as he is now in KCS. Your information make me more and more interested in this school. Hope I can join this big family someday.

今日派左成績表啦, jasmine中文比上學期exam差左呀, 你地d小朋友有冇咁既情況呀, 我仲未睇到份paper, 但係我估深左好多, jasmine話有5個同學唔合格, 佢話1B班都有2個唔合格

My son's Chinese exam 差左 a lot, but passed.  I've checked from the paper, very little of the question are tricky but the main reason is that my son is too weak in sentence structure and too much careless mistake.  I think I will give him more Chinese reading in this summer.   

Is the one 唔合格 recommend to repeat P1?

DooChoi,

For the parents who don't like local schools giving too much pressure to kids, SSCPS is a good choice I think.

I know a P4 mom in our school, whose younger son is a P.1-student-to-be but ranked in SSCPS' waiting list.  She tells me today, while her younger son has lucky-drawed to St Joseph, she received the call from SSCPS on 15 June.  Without consideration, she gave up the seat in ST Joseph's.

Hi Junior Fan,
Thanks for sharing. I don't know if my sons can tolerate the local school but personally not. However, I would like my sons to have certain level of Chinese competency, especially PTH. I think this is the general mindset of parents in SSCPS, right?
This morning, someone had commented to me that students from SSCPS are generally more naugthy. What do you think? I imagine that such an environment make children more outgoing and free to express. I don't mind my sons to be more active but surely not just a 'bookworm' or 'greenhouse-plant'.

"Naughty" is generally normal wor!  Is it too silly to think about there would be a school without a naughty boy??  Only if they are not too misbehaved, no bad language, the students are acceptable for me.  

In SSCPS, children from different classes and different grades have many chances to meet, for example, they have lunch together, joining activities after school, sitting together in sports day, and everyday they are riding in a same school bus.  Those are chances for the young kids to listen or learn something beyond your expectation, that's true.  But it is unavoidable in every schools and the society I think.

For my son, everytime he asks me or tells me about what he gets new "knowledge" from the senior (usually he doesn't understand the meaning or why do they say like that), I would clarify for him what is right and wrong.  Frankly speaking, most of them are common navie behaviour, not really bad things.   I'm ok for that.

It is my own opinion anyway.

justin都係差左,仲要係好多，激死我!!!  照睇份paper唔係深，不過我發覺今次老師改作句改得好嚴緊，除了careless mistakes,就係喺作句度失分．．．

仲有，今日talent show, 1C Choir 拿季軍，冠軍個人表演都係1C架，好叻喎

92 is really good in this paper wor!  He/She should be very smart.

My time is 11:30, 8 July.  Last time, when I was waiting in the corrider, I chatted with Clement Tong and someone else for a long time.  They were lovely and I was pleased to hear about something that my son had never told me.

jasmine話我知而家同justin好fd, 因為佢幫jasmine出頭, 話說jasmine比同學仔改左花名, jasmine次次都唔鍾意人地咁叫佢, 上星期justin幫佢出頭話果位同學仔, 果位同學仔跟住走左, jasmine好感激佢呀, 男仔真係唔同d, 好man呀.

btw, 我覺得佢地改jasmine花名係幾得意架

係啦, 其實改花名都幾得意, 不過jasmine就唔太鍾意囉,

係呀, 前日李老師打比我, 叫我星期五出席個結業禮, 咁我就順便問下點解jasmine d中文差左咁多, 佢話呢, 份卷係深左喎, 多數都係造句同埋閱讀理解失分, 咁我話萬一真係唔合格咁點算架? 如果係會同上學期既分數除返, 除左合格就ok, 所以全班33人都升班.

As far as I know, all kids currently in 1C will be 同一班 next term.
