I were there also this morning.  All the mom and Dad seems in a very high spirit.  They were taking photos in the playground and in the classroom.  The kids learnt to write student handbook today and have done some classwork.  My son told me he went out for a walk during the rest and went to toilet by himself.   Seems not bad for his first day.

想了解給多少零用錢才最合宜,小兒看見朋友仔有錢買零食,要我給他零用錢,而我看見一大清早已有學生買薯片,這不是我想看見的

以我所知, 學校小食部係冇薯片汽水賣, 你見到嗰包應該係小朋友自己帶返學

另外, 學校建議唔好帶多過$10零用錢

阿女話好多人買嘢食，排食龍 。
The 1st day, 佢組有個男仔用$10buy了3包糖 。

do U know that 小食部just next to group 1 classroom.
So your son will see many student buying food when he go outside the classroom. You need to explain to him that it is not a 'must' to buy snack at school.
I gave my daugher $5-10/per day and suggest her to save up or only buy biscuits/drinks.

My son also asked me after the 1st day.  But I told him I will not give him money when he is in P1.  Maybe later (P1 2nd term) will be.

你小朋友可能未慣, 你唔洗太緊張, 要比時間佢地適應
另外, 上學期測考, 老師係會每條題目讀比小朋友聽
