hi all,

聽左2日學校個talk, 感覺如何??

我講下自己先, 以前只係考試前努力下, 平時聽話就過關, 而家係話測默考唔計, 但日日都係評估中, 反而係日日有壓力.......呢個係我大人諗法.

不過, 對於我仔係考試緊張型, 反而IB模式對佢有利, 佢又聽教聽話唔駁咀(係學校喳!), 平時分無難道, 而家學埋自己搵料, 開始見d成效, 但中學校長講黎講去都唔包底, 我個心都係未踏實, 唯有催谷oral, 實行中!

總括黎講, IB既理念真係好正, 自發自主, 如果真係從細訓練到小朋友能夠識自己去搵料做野, 自覺自律, 講得做得同人相處得, 將來真係一個完美既人, 可惜我地係凡人, 唔知阿仔得唔得.......努力中!

1) Facts about the presentation of IB on Saturday
The focus much of the presentation on 2 points:

a) Transdisciplinary learning, a teaching and learning strategy for IB

b) The exploratory learning

c) How the assessment was done on a & b


c) My good feelings:

1) If started from young to develop the enquiry based learning attitude, it's really good for kids, that's the essence of learning for everyone, I like this model of learning!

2) The teaching team seems to be very genuine and professional, though still give me an impression of "uncertain" or "too many technical terms"

唯有催谷oral, 實行中!

If the secondary school requested high standard of english ability, why the school not to put much focus on that, starting from primary school?

Their mandarin curriculum and teaching is very good, no need to find supplementary learning, but the English language policy should be presented with a more clear way to the parents..

comparatively speaking(with other DSS school), the teaching team is good indeed, for primary school students, quality of teachers are really crucial. I believe they are able to face the challenge on IB curriculum..from their presentation, their attitude is genuine and they are willing to learn, that's the most important..

Hi Iron,

that's what I think, from their Saturday presentation, IB is not aim at "一個完美既人", but a person who respect himself/herself,feel interest to learning. your son always have choices if he does not lose their interest and confidence in learning.Not necessarily go to creative secondary, there are other good DSS will love to have this kind of children. So your son will be welcomed by many schools. You have done well to give him good language foundation, that's a surplus then..

At least CPS shoow they have good practice during these two weeks:
1) phonics for both chinese and english, especially the chinese one, that's very good package, the english one is still wait and see..

2) reading habit every day 15m to encourage kids pick up books and exchange books freely up to their interest, that's good..

3) regular dictations, manageable ones, not crazy ones with existing learning knowledge, so that's good.

4) reasonable grammar teaching step by step

I hope more oral practice...will be started from begining..

妳講得好岩, 希望阿仔學到野, 亦希望佢唔只啓中一個選擇.

意念正確, 不過開步期萬樣改革, 試驗, 適應, 調整, 奈何我地係開荒牛....... 造就往後萬世基業! 呵呵呵~~(係咪好浩氣長存呢)

今朝送完阿仔, 同事頭去九龍城街市買送, 期間有政黨係度派傳單, 個阿叔左手拎住成疊, 右手係咀度舔一舔, 拎左一張俾事頭, 事頭唔要, 行過後佢問我會唔會要, 我當堂笑出聲.......我話佢知阿仔日日係學校d ws都係咁派架(某堂)! 佢當堂O晒咀........ 唔係咪.......真係要反映下喎.

今日早餐有個爹地講左學校門口d怪獸車, 仲影埋個司機阻左成街, 人地響on5分鐘死都唔走, 之後仲兇個爹地要刪除條片, 又拍打人車頭, 好彩有其他目擊證人, 後黎個阿太先好聲好氣同個爹地道歉話自己新黎唔知.
