Mummy's support for him is most important, I believe... you have put much much effot to work with school together to nurture your son!!
Of course, our kids will always give us surprise and they will bloom like flowers out of your surprise. Their own determination to go beyond their own ability also counts as well, right?
she is good at Mandarin class, but a little bit anxious in English class. But she said she wants to read english story gently and beautifully as other girls in her class.
that's what she learned in reading time..she exchange story books with other kids. I like that.
I am not sure about your son's workload when he was at P1, but now, it seems they are adding the workload bit by bit, quite a lot Chinese readings. Dictation every week for both Chinese and english.., probably this is what they called ongoing assessment.
I am still a CPSKG mom though I have been with the school for a while. Truth is that there are more new teachers around but there are also more disgruntle parents as well. Many parents are expecting a lot more from the teachers nowadays. I just can't imagine how or why the class teachers should go and check every kids' school bags everyday. I just hope the new K1 parents will be less critical to the school or to anyone for that matter.
Hi Iron,I deleted my post because I didn't want more parents getting more upset due to my comments. I understand this is a discussion platform; anyone can make their comments. But I wish this is a more constructive platform rather than a place where anonymous people can hurt others' feelings. I hope more parents can try to see things from the school's perspective and then they will see that all parties are trying to do their best to make their kids better people.
BTW, I want to thank you for your comments over the years on this platform as you helped me choose CPS and CPSKG as the right schools for my kids.
Hi Iron, my kid is happy with the learning and is getting to the learning. We used to be in a so call famous kindergarten, the principal is meeting parents' concern by adding more and more really difficult concepts to the learning load at K3, our of kid's developmental ability (except some as some kids are exceptional) , general or average kids can't eat them all...by now, i know the CPS school is doing the right thing in addressing kid's learning with theoretical backup. They know what is learning and they know about child development.
so that's good!
I think I have made a right choice as this is what I need for my kid in the learning process.
what i hope is all the teachers be well-trained to meet the essence of IB!
