Hi,  
First of all, thanks for the replies to our questions.  

For those who had interviews at Stf and KV, how would you choose? I will choose Stf but still need to wait for SC's result.  

It sounds nice that Stf will have outings every fornight!  What are the school hours for AM (half day) and full day class?  Thanks a lot!!

I have made up my mind to choose Stafford already. I think its parent-friendly attitude & hard-working teachers are very rare in kindergarten.

SJC has accepted my girl but I won't register as so many unreasonable mystery of it (I've stated my feelings of it in other SJC topics. )

My son is on SC waiting list ah!!!!   

I intended to choose between Stf & SC.  Now I may have to choose between Stf & KV instead!!

At first I did not understand why other moms felt so upset when rejected.  Now I know why they feel so bad.  I feel like losing a good choice.


All Stf moms,

Can you advise me the advantages of Stf over my other two choices below?

Now, I need to choose amongst:

Stf AM  <--- good environ, quality good but NOT famous enough
Victoria AM  <--too happy school but close to home
KV AM  <--- famouse but may be too harsh

hi, my son is accepted by Stf and SC and SJC.  Stf is actually my first choice as I like its emphasis on English and the more cosy environment as compared to SC, although SC is a famous 'brand'.  Anyway, I know Stf is quite parent-friendly, so give them a ring or even pay them a visit to find out more about teh school before you make the final decision.

i like Sfd more, but my husband prefers SJC as it provides a primary backup - still under debate.  It's a tough one!!  What about you??

don't be so sad. My daughter also on the waiting list of SC even though my kid performs quite well in the English interview that day.

However, as you know, I got a bad impression of SC after the interview. So, I don't mind if they reject my kid. Hey, it's their loss not to choose our kids -- see us the caring mums & smart kids! Ha ha!!!!

I forgot if I wrote in the forums that when my kid pointed to a red vehicle toy there & said "Look, mummy! It's a car!" The interviewer immediately frown & said" No, it's not a car. It's a fire-engine." My kid seemed so unhappy immediately as in her understanding those with wheels are called cars!!!
Yes, to be exact, it's a fire-engine. But the way she told my kid the right answer reflects that she doesn't care about the feelings of kids. I mean she's not totally wrong as it's a kind of car in a general sense!   The interviewer should tell her the right answer in a better way in order not to hurt the kid's confidence.   

To me, famous is not equal to good. Quality is more important to me. Once again, you need to find a right school for your kid, not a famous one. Say if your kid does not have much self-control & discipline - KV may be good for him as it stresses on discipline. To me, my girl is a very self-discipline person & love to complete any tasks by herself &
to take up challenge. So, I think too much discipline will only have negative effect as there may be too many rules to be bounded by her. Thus I tend to choose more "happy school" for her to explore herself but the cirriculum is more "difficult" in a sense so that she can enjoy her school life.

I think SF can serve all these purposes Iook for plus those other good points I stated before. So, I choose it.

Dont' be so upset. I know it's not a good feeling to be reject but SC is not the only good school. They accept 600+ kids a year but dosen't mean that 600+ kids are smarter than our kids. Be confident to your son & yourself.

再唔係..女女every sat.都學...學完之後會留低玩..妳可以帶anson黎玩..甘佢有個相熟的同學仔係到...可能OK 架

其實妳自已都決定左, 妳都知每間學校有好有唔好, 純粹睇妳自己想比小朋友係mud野環境入面成長.
問問自己 -
係唔係一定要名校?
名校又係唔係一定最適合自己個B & 妳自己?
承唔承受到比學校加壓去督促自己個B一定要科科100分?
願唔願意見到自己個B成日要同人比較?
如果覺得OK.做到既話個B讀書真係會好叻.
但係係唔係純粹為讀書本既智識呢?
定係想個B係一個公平, 開心, 有自信既環境下學習?

My girl also on SC waiting list even she performed very well in the interview.  She answered all questions correctly and quickly without any difficulty, 老師都有讚她好 smart, but still on the waiting list only.  

Jychan, you are correct, it's their loss not to choose our kids    

New I am chosing between SF and Our Lady (in Wong Tai Sin).  Of cource I know the english standard in Our Lady can't be compared with SF, but it still has a lot of advantages:-

- SF : good english, good environment, more competitive to apply DSS, but quite expensive.

- Our Lady : good environment (好有校園 feel), emphasis on 德育培養, 但課程較淺, have primary school and emi secondary school as back up, more close to my home, much cheaper school fee (around HKD1300)

Actually, I really like SF, but the most concern is the school fee, 及四年後又要為入小一再煩過, and we know the rules of the game is so unfair, we can't guarantee if we can go to our dream school even our kids are smart.

好煩, 都唔知應點揀.

係太古地/又一城都有得學校...3歲以上囉
有1人/2人/小組...我女女就係2人組別..5堂$700加$50報名費..每星期一堂..每堂半小時..包入場...上完堂仲可以 stay係到玩..

I read from 天平 leaflet the average cambridge english test (starters) result comparison as folowing:

HK overal: 11.x  shields
Age :9.7 yrs old

vs

天平 students' : 12.5 shields
Age : 6.7 yrs old

I remember that Mrs Fung had said that Stafford's pupils (aged below 6 yrs old) got an average of :  13.x shields for the same last year!!!!
