I don't think so. It would be too aggressive. Heard that AL Chinese is not very hard as its "as second language". However AL math is another story! My son is good at Math. He told me in their top set they had finished teaching GCSE Math in F.4 and now teaching Further Math in F.5, but I guess it is still GCSE syllabus.
Some U's or their individual departments may prefer applicants who take their A-level exams all at the same time, e.g. 3 A-levels in Year 13. These U's may want to see if the applicant can cope with such a sizable workload. Admission policies may differ for A-levels taken early, or if these will be included in their conditional offers made.
Not every UK university require interview. Oxbridge application must have interview. For Cambridge, about 80% of applicants invited for interview, while Oxford selects less than 40% applicants for interview.
For competitive course, the offer rate is lower. The following data is 2014
Natural Science offer given 731 out of 3170 = 23%
Law 248 / 1047 = 23.7%
Medicine 281 / 1521 = 18.5%
Architecture 56 / 403 = 13.9% (the most competitive course)

What I quoted is meant to show how competitiveness in different subjects. Of course, individual offer rate will vastly different depending on so many factors on students' background.
For ICL, interview is depending on subjects. For UK base students, they select students based on the information provided on the UCAS application, we will either invite you to one of our recruitment days, or make a decision either to offer or reject. For HK base students, they sometime invite them to meet at their HK education fair.
