英華今年收表會否破記錄呢？

算拉！有得揀已經比好多努力叩門或未找到心儀的家長好，不論YW同DBPS也是好學校，入到是但一間，或揀邊間也錯不了，男生，成績未必代表一齊！

LSC 2013 average > 5% for 4 core subjects (Eng, Chi, Math Core and LS) is 42.5, which is much better than its 2014 results of 36.5 and also better than SJC 2014 average of 40.9. Both DBS and SJC have better DSE results in 2014 than 2013. The only boys' school may have 2013 DSE results close to LS is KC. However, the DSE results KC disclosed have a different classification method (e.g. % above 4 and % above 5*). Hence, we can hardly make a direct comparison to LS' results. However, based on the UGC funded degree courses admission rate and the number of high-flyers in DSE, it seems that KC also have better DSE results in 2014.
It is not that meaningful to just look at the DSE results of a school in one particular year. Each school may have some small YOY fluctuation. Having said that, we can still identify those schools with better DSE results and also understand the traditional "strong" and "weak" subjects of those schools.

Is it meaningless to compare different schools? The answer is yes...and no.

There is no point to compare you kid's schools to other schools. Some parents said the school is good doesn't mean your kid is good. It's true. For most top schools, in particular boys' schools, the variation of DSE results among the students is huge. In fact, the % of grades 2 & 3 will be more or less the same as the % of grades 5* and 5**. Hence, getting into a good school doesn't mean you can get a good DSE results without spending any effort.

However, comparison is necessary when you choose a suitable school for your kid. Each school has its preference for student selection. This will be reflected in its DSE results. For example, LS and Sing Yin want to pick those kids strong in Maths and WYC and SJC likes students good in English. With such information on hand, you will know which school your kid has a higher chance to be admitted and which school can provide the suitable environment to nurture his strength and talent.

Why so many parents spend their time with EK? Just want to get more information about the schools and do the comparison, I guess.

Thx for the sensible and inspiring sharing. I agree with you. I am here not for any answer about school selection for my kid. No one knows my kid better than me. But I definitely need to be here to collect more info for my reference.

我2個仔都冇考英華，一來地區，2來聽完林校長講完個talk就更加不喜歡，覺得她吹得好大。(只是個人意見而已）

請睇清楚我之前嘅回覆:

我講嘅只係好多家長對呢啲直資Top school嘅遍面印象，我冇講過讀呢啲學校一定要係上等人，一定要有司機七人Van接送。

對不起，EK裏好多家長亦知我阿仔讀邊間學校，所以我唔會對英華特別吹捧，亦冇趨之若鶩之情。英華近年喺各方面都的確搞得唔錯，無論各位家長對林校長印象如何，但佢同埋佢嘅團隊對學校所做到嘅一切都係令大家有目共睹。

在會考年代，有些中學（例如英皇、英華等等），校方只要求學生讀和考8科。（當然，部分學生可能自己私下自修多一、兩科。）所以，翻查歷史，英皇及英華等中學好少會誕生十A狀元，但這並不一定代表這些中學整體會考成績不好，只不過8優狀元是不會被報導而已。

欣賞其他學校好嘅一面何來敬拜? 分析一下為何呢間學校最近每年收4000多份申請表嘅原因有乜問題，標纤為敬拜者? 我阿仔正就讀其中一間經常被神化嘅學校，我又何需要對YW敬拜呢? 如果我亦欣賞及讚美SPCC或DBS，我又係唔係SPCC或DBS嘅敬拜者呢?真心請教!

唔使嘩嘞，Mercedes Benz S-class 入門版都要120萬，高階版過300萬。有啲地區70萬都買唔到一個車位!宜家比較好嘅住宅區都賣緊2、3萬蚊一呎，两千呎住宅都要5、6千萬，真正有錢人係唔會對一架七人Van如珠如寶嘅.....

若供 , running cost 又差不多，30 vs 60萬的van 其實真的相差不大
