I has come back to SH with my little daughter. Today is her 2-month old, and so is the time for having vaccine injection to her. As per some mommies' advices, I think I will check with WorldLink in Shanghai Centre. Or...any other suggestion you could give me???  

It is so difficult to take care of my baby and housework at the same time (I almost went mad in the first week)...and so, I have employed ayi who comes to my place 3 times a week, and paid for her RMB500, is that reasonable? BTW, I am looking forwards to meeting you up, please let me know any gathering you are going to held!!!

Did any mummy knows that if I bring the Philipino maid to SH, how is the arrangement of Labour insurance and medical insurance??? Do I need to pay the same salary in Hong Kong or with premium???

How can you do housework and taking care of baby in the same time.  I remember when my girl was 1.5 months, I stopped brest feeding her because SH was cold.  And now she is 1.5 yrs lu.

For your ref. my ahyi works for me 3 hrs/day, 6 days/week is RMB600.  She is not shanghaiese.

In fact, currently I just breastfeed my baby once a day esp. in the mid-night, coz I am so busy and sometimes, I would rather take more rest in the daytime as mostly at night I couldn't sleep well, my little princess likes to be awaken at 3 to 4am...

My ayi is not Shanghaiese neither, she is from Sichuan! Then, start from next month, she will work from 9am-6pm in alternative date, pay RMB700. She is introduced from one of my friend's relative, I think she is reliable enough (I hope)! You are right, without Ayi, I must be crazy and mentally illness of handling both housework and baby care

Oh... Are you going to held the lunch gathering? May I join with? As I am fresh here, would really like to hear your sharing about living in Shanghai with your kids!

I've no time to check this topic, you had lunch yesterday?  I'm still suffering from the crazy staff, the story is too long. She keeps sending & calling me with threatening messages. She called yesterday and said, "If you don't pay what I requested, don't regret on what will happen tomrrow."  So, I am waiting for her in the office.  She said, she will come with her lawyer etc.

My parents are in HK, I have to send my son to school, go to work, pick-him up before 4:30 pm, go to supermarket, cook dinner etc.... Continuous to work in front of the computer when my son is playing or eating. I'm so tired and everyday can fall asleep before 10:00 am.

My son said, "Mama, you can only work when I go to school."  The other day, he said, "Mama, you don't work at home, only work outside."

Hi All,

I was busy during the past 2 mths and just logged in BK for few times. My in-law made me crazy....    I have already changed 3 ah-yi since I met u in March. The current one (the 4th one) has been working for 3 weeks...hope she's alright.

Dear all,

Long time no chat!!!  

I am available for the lunch on Next Thursday.  I am not that busy as my daughter was schooling during weekday and I am quite free!!!

Recently, I am busy with "大長今".  I have brought one Cantonese version here in Shanghai.......  Sorry to let you know that I am so "C9" ha....ha....   But in fact, it is good for killing time while I feel boring.

I don't know what happen to either "internet" or "BK website", it is very hard to view the BK, either the speed is very slow and even disconnected.

Can't believe that u got the Cantonese version 大長今! How many DVDs are there? I bought the Korean 'copied' version which is 8 DVDs. Friend bought the other 'copied' version which got 20+ disks. I've just finished 10 chapters so far but too busy to carry on.....

Will anyone leave SH for summer holiday? I've checked the British Airway web site last night and found that the ticket to London costs as low as CNY3,990 btw June-August. Child ticket is CNY3,000 and Infant ticket is CNY400 only. Seems that cheaper than going back to HK.

You're so brave to think about long-haul flight with kids!  I was in Sydney during May holiday, 9 hours flight. We took CX and my son behaved 'unexpected' good during the flight becos he watched a few movies, e.g. Bugs Life, Monsters Inc. and he was willing to sleep!  However, no space for him to roll over & he fell on the floor & cried. I did not sleep at all.

I bought the Cantonese Version accidentally.  At first, I just bought the Mandarin Version (a box set with 18 DVDs, 4 chaphters per DVD) from a shop near 仙霞路.  May be the sales knew that I spoke Cantonese, she asked me whether I want Cantonese Version.  And then she brought out one for me from the room inside......

I planned to spend the summer holiday in Hong Kong only and may plan to go somewhere else, not yet decided as my husband is quite busy and may not be able to take long vacation.  How about you?

I have met you during last two gathering.  Hope I can see you next Thursday.

Hi,

I am a 粗心妈妈. My baby has 痰 since the end of April and I just gave him the general 化痰 medicines. I was free today and I took Oliver to the Childern Hospital in Feng Lin Rd. However, the doctor told me that Oliver got the 支气管炎. We have to go back 3 days later in case it becomes 肺炎. I've never known that baby may be too young to have obvious illness signs.  

By the way, I would like to go to the UK but not this summer. I won't go back to HK neither. I can't handle 2 kids at the same time. I will stay in SH for the HOT SUMMER!

As I know limited info. regarding your question.  Philipino maid is still not legally hiring in Shanghai.  Therefore you better ask for your HK agency about the details of arrangment.  Some employers  apply visit visa or student visa for their maid.  And the period of stay depends on the vaildation of the visa.

That's all I know hope it's satisfy you.

I want to take my son to Shanghai Railway Museum on Saturday's morning, any mom is interested? I've heard that they display many engineers, locomotive etc.... in Puxi, not far from Shanghai Railway Station.
