Heidi Ma,
My son failed one of Chinese papers and got very low mark in Chinese listening.  He has a private tutor who gives him Cantonese reading lesson once a week.   Do you think Kumon does help?  Please give me some comments on Kumon Chinese.  Thanks in advance!

Hi Tingmum and Heidi媽 :

My daughter would be admitted to TSL in coming Sep.  I worried her Chinese standards as well.   She finds quite difficult to memorize those Chinese words though she is now stuyding a local kindergarten.

For TSL, is that P1 is usind Cantonese for Chinese lesson?  How about P2 and P3.  I was told that they would use Putonghua since P2.  Is it the case?

By the way, Kumon is using Putonghua and it is not a good way for immediate results.  

Besides, I heard that there is ranking for each student on the academic results in TSL.  Is it the case?

Next time, please remember to use a Word file to draft your post first.

If it is a normal post, please check whether all the content of your post can appear in the thread properly first before you delete the draft.

In case it is a PM, you better save your post somewhere and not to delete it too quickly because the PM system in E.K. is not as good as that in B.K before.

Anyhow, I can imagine your pain of losing long post and having to re-type/re-think every word again.

Attended Sports Day today.

Any parents here went / participated (parent helper, maid to boss, parent-child skipping competition) too ???

Hope the weather on Open Day will be as good as that today !

Dear all,

Did you attend the Sports Day today?

This year, the weather was much better than that of last year.

Although there was technical problem when the School Song was played by the cassette tape recorder, TSL pupils’ voices remedied the deficiency and actually the 
“un-plugged version” of the School Song was even better!!

Therefore, no need to play cassette tape recorder next year.

P1中文分兩科, 有廣東話, 亦有普通話(上學期是教PTH拼音為主), 讓小朋友調適好, 為P2以上全普通話作準備.

名次只會列出名列前茅的, 打後的不會列出. 我頗認同這個安排.  起碼不會傷害到一些孩子們的自尊心.

如果你囡囡讀開本地幼稚園而又識講中文, 中文科一定不會有問題. 我仔仔在小一開學時我才想起他還不懂寫自己的中文名字, 他的中文能力你可想而知.  雖然這次考試閱讀理解和 LISTENING唔合格, 但己是在我意料之中.在TSL數個月, 他的中文己進步很多.   而你囡囡只是在記字方面較弱, 你真是不用擔心, 以我仔仔的中文情況, 我地的中文老師竟可以令他認讀到整課課文的字, 上學期每次要讀黙的課文, 他回到家己可背得出. 原來老師是會在堂上幫他們溫書. 仔仔在家會告訴我老師有教他們如何拆字來記字, 又會教如果決定個字屬什麼部首, 象形文字的來源等. 相信你囡囡不會有追不上的情況.   

公文中文方面, 了解不多, 因CENTRE原來是不會讓家長和老師試先見面, 沒有了解, 我又怎知老師教學能力如何?  我先生又好反對, 他對於補習和操練一向很反感. 仔仔又很懶寫字, 我都好煩惱.  如你對公文中文有認識, 請多提供意見.謝謝!  :loveliness:

比起舊年,今年SPORT DAY的天氣好靚.  B*你似乎年年SPORT DAY都有請假返去做PARENT HELPER. 難得! PRINCIPAL 你今年亦有去做 PARENT HELPER 嗎?      今年都好多MAMI返去幫手!


我填了FORM 去 OPEN DAY 做 PARENT HELPER. 希望到時會收到 PTA 的通知CALL 啦!

Me too, very lazy, just served my two princesses.

The whether was so fine that couldn't be compared with last year's. I was used to be an active participant in sports days when I studied in secondary school. Enjoyed TSL's sports day very much. It let me think of my old good days.

Have a happy and fruitful lunar new year ahead.
