My friends said their children (插班 students) in others kindergartens only joined 1hr in the first week.  What's your case in Think?

We are a bilingual family, we talk both English (20%)and Chinese (80%) at home, since we have a Philippino maid. At night, I tell stories in both Eng and Chi (50-50%). He had attended English playgroups (Letterland) from 1.5-3.5 years, but I think that was not very significant in his English training.

Regarding the Chinese standard of Think, I heard from a graduate's parent that her son's Chinese standard is relatively lower than his classmates'. She didn't elaborate too much, but I guess most probably is about how many Chinese characters / terms the kids can recognize and write. From my sharing with other friends, I notice that the standard can be quite varied among different KGs.

Since Think is an "international kindergarten", even if you are attending the bilingual class, the homework may not be as heavy as other local / Chinese KGs. That means the children may have less "training" in writing Chinese characters in Think.

Good to know the school bus arrangement is ok now.  It's also happy to know the 副校長 is so nice.

My son will join the morning class from Jan2005.  I think it's the same class as your son unless his one is full.  How many students in your son's class?

What did your maid and teacher do when your son was crying?  Today is your son's first day to school and he may not 適應 the new style immediately.  He should be ok later.  You may need to talk to him more and comfort him so that he feels better.

I thought the student can be accompanied by a parent for the first few days.  I know some friends' children 插班 (in other schools) and they could be accompanied by an adult in the first few day.  They only attended 1hr or half lesson and then went home.  Few days later, they attend the class by their own for whole morning (normal hour) and the adults waited outside.  Does your son attend 3hrs class or just part of it?

我當日因太心急(無車)，想轉去九龍塘校(我以為一定有直接車)就打電話去九龍塘度問有無學位，點知原來九龍塘是沒有2yrs class的，聽電話個職員只問了我兒子的名字就收線，當時仲好失望!  到了晚上，溫副校長就自動打電話來問清楚，不過四天她已幫我解決了!!

Oh, 副校長 is so lovely.  I have more and more confidence on this school now.

Sorry that I don't understand what means "原來這樣轉車是不合法的".  Do you mean student should not be requested to change school bus on the way from home to school and vice versa?

How does 溫副校長 know your case?  Do you think the staff in Kowloon Tong told her?  Anyway, the staff should not hang up the phone so quick.

Thx for checking the no. of students in your son's class.

It seems not too bad on the first day 'coz your son said "好" when the teacher asked him to come back again tomorrow.  I think he likes to school but just feel not comfortable when parents and 姐姐 are not there.

Thx for telling me so much info.  Hope your son can 適應 the new life soon.

Sorry for missing so many days !!

My daughter seems enjoy her school life at Think very much!! She loves the school (the environment, the facilities) & the teacher there, she did well at her first week (not cry at all).  The school scheduled the new comer take 1 hr class only at Mon & Tue, 2 hrs class at Wed & Thur, then 3 hrs class as normal at Fri for the first week.  My daughter's teacher Ms. cheng then reported the detail about what loklok (my daughter's name) or what the class did to me everyday after school.

There is 2 other girls started the school with loklok on the first day, which mean only 3 girls in the AM class starting from Nov.  At first I want to have a class with my daughter, but the supervisor Ms. Mok say cannot, but I feel unhappy that because i found the other 2 girls' mom was sit in at the 1st class, only my daughter alone, luckily she did not cry.....

the foreigner teacher is reported sick leave on the 1st week, hope will see her this week.

jujuy, I bought 2 winter uniform & a school bag finally, thanks for yr advise.

Happy to know LokLok is doing fine in school.  I don't understand why you couldn't sit in the class but the others could...  Anyway, LokLok is ok with the school live immediately.

Is this the new class which the staff said newly open from Nov?  I think Jujuy's son is in this class now and my son will probably be in this class as well.  I hope all of our kids will be getting well and happy together.

我們的小朋友都在同一班，作日去接放學(10:15)，my son 唔肯走，話仲要入返去玩，但主任話怕太長時間佢會驚，所以都係要接佢走! 鄭老師帶佢出來時後面仲有2 個同group 的 girl 跟埋出來玩!one long hair(winter uniform, one short hair(summer uniform only T-short), 一個仲要老師抱，兩個個樣都好得意!! there are 3 girls & 2 boys (including my son)

鄭老師好nice，見d小朋友好鍾意佢，佢第一天就發現到我個仔驚公仔就即刻將d公仔收埋，我個仔更會主動同佢講野!  因上星期我去其他學校interview 我已主動同 interview的老師講"我個仔驚公仔,佢一見公仔就會喊" 個老師都唔理，仲要繼續用公仔去引 (客)佢!
好老師真的很重要!

But 唔見學校所講逢二四來的 foreigner teacher!!

It's good to know your son loves the class.  Did he cry seriously?  If not, he's already good lah.

So there're 5 students in the group now?

Who told you to 中途轉車?  Fortunately you didn't give up seeking the direct bus, otherwise it's very dangerous and illegal lah.

Mmm, the driver is no good bor as he should know it's illegal.  Anyway, it's good that you find the direct bus now.  好彩你問多D呀.

I prefer less students in a group as well.  Our kids are still young and the teachers can pay more attention on each one.

好心急等個仔番學那天,唔知佢會唔會喊呢?

到佢插班時其他小朋友都穩定了(我見而家其他四個都好乖)，老師一定會好好照顧佢的! 唔駛擔心!

今日返兩個鐘 11:15 食埋茶點放學! 老師話佢無喊到仲食左好多茶點，明天可以返足三個鐘了!

Yes you're right.  My son is quite active so the teacher may need more time to catch him back.  Haha!!  Sorry if he slows down the teaching flow.

My son is now joining the playgroup in Think MeiFoo.  There's a girl who born in early-Dec and has applied the lower nursery as well.  Both of us  saw the Principal in the same morning.  I think she'll also be joining in Dec/Jan.

Wow, your son is very good bor.  Today is his 3rd day to school and he's ok with the new style.  Great!!  你可以放心啦!

講樣野比你地知,幼兒班個英文老師無做了.而家馬鞍山個間找個英文老師頂住,每星期2天,每次半個鐘咋.

其實我都唔係好滿意,比得黎個 $$ 連個英文老師都無. (固定的).

有時都會怪上年的家長麻煩,迫走個英文老師,搞到今年LN  連個固定的老師都無;同時,亦都覺得間學校無鬼用,一個好少少的英文老師都請唔到.     

美孚分校可能都有影響呢!!我估.

Do you mean the teacher for Lower Nursery (2yrs old class)?  The one who is shared by MaOnShan and MeiFoo?

Have this happened before in any branch of Think?  I've once heard that sometimes it's quite difficult to hire a foreigner teacher, especially 固定的.  I hope they can solve the problem soon.

What do you mean "有時都會怪上年的家長麻煩,迫走個英文老師"?
