I wrote the followings at the beginning of this thread, may as well copyover for your ease of reference.
They used to be the same school. Before 1999, 沙小 was the PM classes of 呂小. At 1999, students from PM classes formed a new school elsewhere and became "沙小".
That was the history between these 2 schools. As of today, 呂小 got 4 primary-1 classes while 沙小 got 5. In terms of academic results, they are at the same level in terms of band-1 student ratio (61%) according to an article I saw from Ming-Pao.
My impression between the two is that 呂小 tends to focus more in academic areas while 沙小 would opt for a balance of everything, i.e. academic, sports and social activities.

沙小學生表現：
1.本校升中派位獲第一及第二級的同學達91%。
2.參加沙田區校際水運會，獲團體男甲亞軍、男乙季軍、女甲殿軍、女乙季軍及女丙冠軍。

4.P.4-5學生參加「2005英語紮紮跳比賽」，獲全場冠軍。

呂小學生表現：
考獲一、二級佔91%。主要升讀浸信會呂明才中學，除沙田區中學外，部分升讀瑪利諾修院學校、皇仁書院、喇沙書院、伊利沙伯中學、協恩中學、聖保羅男女中學、拔萃男書院等。本校三年級之全港系統性評估之中、英、數成績遠超全港平均水平。於音樂節、朗誦節、講故事、舞蹈、數學、徵文、標語創作及多項運動比賽中獲優異成績。

Here is my 2 cents. If your kid loves academic stuffs then you go for 呂小. If your kid is sportive or with out-going character then 沙小. |
