Seems that he is getting better used to the school la~~~i'm really happy with that!!!!

But he was sick today, and the teacher called me up and asked us to pick him up at around 3:30~~


I didn't let him take the school bus, cos he's too small~~

My mother helps bring him to the school and pick him up after school~~

No, I was not the one asking the headmistress why there's so little girls..however I was listening to their conversation.

My girl is the one who sits nearest to the door, in the orange group.  I'm sure I've met you in the first week.  Do you take your boy to school every day or does he take the school bus?  My helper takes my girl to school everyday.

Jaime mama, so how did the headmistress answered that question? I heard from other mama that most girls will withdraw once the girl-only school accepted them, such as SPK, SCK & some girls will change to St Stephen's girl in K2, therefore the school tends to select boys more. Again this was heard from other mama, no true evidence.

FM, no wonder you have disappeared for so long. I am a pregnant mama too. I am now 20 weeks and expect to due in Feb, so you should be in Mar. Same as you, I suffered quite a lot during the first three months and I felt like I am going to die. Luckily Iwas okay after 16 weeks. So are you okay now? Take good care !!

Anybody want to join that "arenting course"? I want to join tha am class but the organizer said only pm class is able to start, am class has not had enough participants. Too bad !!

My son Hanghang is also in the same class as your son.  He is in the Apple group.  Miss Chan called me yesterday to update me about Hanghang's situation in class.  He made friends with the other children within Apple group, enjoy going to school, always asks for more bread/cake during tea time, very concentrated, but quite quiet.  Miss Chan said, she will let him try to speak in class later to train him.  Hope they can help him to become a more outgoing child (or at least not too introvert).

When you are facing the class, the table is on your right hand side.  He sits on the side that is facing the wall (i.e. not facing the door), he sits beside a girl, and he is closest to the teacher.

It's funny, coz there's only one word different in the girl's and Andrew's Chinese name, and they are sitting beside each other.  May be the teacher thought that they were brothers and sisters.

The headmistress didn't really answer the question, she just said the school "wong" boys wor..if you see what I mean, sorry can't type Chinese.  So girls only kindergartens are better than mixed?  I turned down a few others for this one, so I believe it is good?!   :

JaimeBB, yes, I heard the conversation as well, "wong" boys mah...  I also think most girls go to SPK, SH due to the primary school mah!!  But definitely SKH is also good. No worry lah.  I also hope that there willl be more girls as my son seems to study in a boys school now.

I am also planning to have a 2nd child.  Andrew is too active, and seems like he's bored being alone.  He were very happy when we had family gatherings with other friends.

The teacher didn't call me to update me on Andrew's situation.  But I've called them up before.  They seemed to have recognized the children already.

I don't think I'll attend the parenting class.  How about the Fun Day in Mt. Butler?  Will any of you go there?  How about being volunteer helper?  I am still thinking about that

Dear all mommy,

I am also a new member. My daughter study in P.M class B and she is the tallest one among all the kids. Her name is Jane and she is in the group of "rabbit" I just ask her if she know "Yat Heen" and she replied me he is in the group of "Little Duck". She studied in Victoria for pre-nursery before and I transfer her to SKH for the last minute (8/27), so far, she enjoyed every much studing at SKH.
For the fun day, both me and my husband also think about to be the volunteer, however, i also wondered if we got time to spend with our daughter, may be next year, when she became bigger and can play independently.
Since my daughter is taking the school and I also need to work so I do not have much chance to meet the teacher and you all at the school. Very glad to learn the sharing from all of you. Very beneficial.

My husband, Andrew and myself will attend the fun day, but as all of you said, I also wonder if I work as volunteer, I can't play with him.  I have also thought about bringing bun bun along ... but seems like I'll be working, and she'll be playing ... feeling  not so good lor  :  :

Andrew always mentioned about Annie Apple and Bouncing Ben now.  He always dance at home, saying that there's a dance to go with the song.  Does any of you know how to help them with their phonics?  I just sing with him and try to make him recognise the alphabets.

I bought the Letterland Book, flash cards, and some other materials from the HK Letterland Centre.  The book is exactly the same as the one used by Miss Becky in school.  My son loves to read it with me, as it is outlined in a story about Annie Apple, Bouncy Ben, etc.  You can also visit their site: www.letterland.com to find out more.

About the dance, I don't know exactly the steps.  But I saw my son bounced everywhere when singing the Bouncy Ben song.

Andrew is very clever, he can tell you so much about his school?  Which month was he born?  Jaime was born in November, so she can only tell me little bit of her school life...
So we'll all meet up on the fun day..

Andrew was born in Sept, around 2 months older than Jaime.  Actually he will only tell me when I asked him, but he is quite excited when I talked about Letterland.

Yes, I believe we can meet most of the parents on Fun Day.

Hi all mummy, really glad to see that our group is getting bigger and bigger.

Horace is sick today and cannot go to school.  He's very unhappy about that.  He also likes Letterland a lot and gets excited every time I talk about it.

My son is taking the school bus#5 since we live on HK East (very far).  I am a full time housewife.  I may start to take him back to school by myself maybe once or twice a month from Oct so that I can talk to the teachers.  Not sure whether I can meet your or not by then.

I also plan to go to the Fun day.. however, as many of you said, it'll be difficult for me to take care of him if I am a helper, so maybe I'll do so next year.
