If you transfer GBP between HSBC premier accounts in different countries, try to use GLOBAL view. Y ... Exactly. When I transferred using Global View, for example last time, when BEA's T/T rate (what they published on their website with a time stamp) was 12.570, the rate used in my transaction was roughly 12.59X, and at the same time the "commercial" T/T rate published by hsbc was 12.575, and the personal banking T/T rate published by hsbc was 12.64.
It seems that there is a premium of around 0.025 - 0.03 in the exchange rate of hsbc.
Not really a lot when you consider 20,000 pounds would give around a difference of HKD600. Just still wanted to understand more.
