i'm a full-time mama.  so it's me who takes care of han han mainly.  my husband helps me when he comes back from office.  we had a full-time domestic helper before.  but after han han started her school life last year, we decided not to renew the contract.  now a part-time helper comes once every week.

do you work full-time or part-time?  who takes care of astha?

我要返工架，平日係婆婆照顧ａｓｔｈａ，星期六日就自己睇返，我地之前都有請工人，不過表現不太滿意，所以就叫婆婆湊，其實我都慶幸有我媽幫我，始終自己人湊會放心多好，再加上自己個女係咁，成日要去做治療，屋企人更加會著緊ｄ．

astha通常9.幾食最後一餐奶跟住就瞓,han han又幾點上床呀,其實我想知返左's'位之後,佢地係咪會有好大進步架

han han goes to bed at eight something.  it seems she has a clock in her body.  if we don't let her go to her room after eight something, she will start making grumbling sound.

certainly the child would have improvement after starting school.  i think because of more exposure, the teachers & helpers are more experienced in handling our children and school discipline is provided.

for han han, some of the improvement includes:
- she used to cry easily e.g. when people laughed   but now she laughs more and explores more.
- she is now more willing to sit on the chair to do her training.
- when she returns home from school, we find her in happy mood.
- her playing technique keeps improving.

aiyah, have forgotten to mention they will assess every child at the beginning of each school year and design a unique training plan for her/him.

我聽社工姑娘講,大口環協康係最大環境最好,不難相信han han會有好既進度,我地媽咪真係但求子女返學開開心心,佢地開心自己都開心

又想問下咁han han講說話怎樣,佢由幾歲先開始講單字架,astha現在還是發音一個音,成日淨係叫ba ba ba

no single word yet. still in the sound making stage - deidei, nainai, baba, mama and a few others.  han han's problem is she is not consistent in what she has learnt.  she would stick to the 'deidei, dada' channel for some days (e.g. we say to her ''han han, say 'baba'" but she would answer 'deidei', in fact before she could speak 'baba'), then after some time she suddenly shifts to the 'baba' channel, then when i point to her bottle and say "han han, say 'nainai'" she would answer 'baba'.  then after some time she again shifts to the 'deidei' channel and seems to forget 'baba'/'mama'.  

one thing i've learnt (still learning) is to have a lot of patience - keep giving her as many opportunities to learn and practise, then only wait for the time when she is able to make it.  another thing is not to focus on what she cannot do and get frustrated but to appreciate her (regina, i can see you are very good at this), even very little thing e.g. her smile.  i still remember when han han was just a baby one thing i appreciated about her was she had good ng ng

thanks.     han han's speech therapist has also said that.  aiyah, so many things to teach her.  really not easy to be the mother of a special child.
