Hi Camom,

ethan病咗兩日, 有少少燒同少少鼻水, 係屋企食d藥同比佢休息下.

我想問咗好耐, 其實咩野係mental? 係唔係exam, 定係revision?

Mental係數學心算，不過暫時只係老師問問題，小朋友寫答案喺張紙上面，例如what's the number between 2 & 4, what's the number after 1, draw a rectangle etc..

我哋嗰班逢星期一﹠四係mental，逢星期五派番嚟夾埋喺英／中文dictation嗰Ｄ數學紙就係啦。

Thank you so much for your info. 我有見過ethan既mental + dictation sheet 派回來. mental 暫時佢都ok, 係有時d中文字寫出咗界or穿頭, 比老師圈住打交叉.

早兩日, ethan返屋企之後喊, 話佢自己唔記得帶書返去, (佢自己又唔講, 所以我地無幫佢放入書包), 佢喊住話"慘啦, miss suen今次實嬲我啦" (哈哈, 其實我覺得幾搞笑!), 於是我咪同ethan講, 下次要記住老師叫你預備d咩啦!!

Calix told me today that Ethan forgot to bring 「天氣涼了」to school and Ms. Lee (or Ms. Suen) said she'd put a  reminding memo in Ethan's handbook.

Could any mom tell me if they need to write one or both side(s) of the A-Z homework sheet?  Calix insisted writing on one side but I saw Ms. Lee had marked "A-Z" in red on top of both sides.

Calix recited a Mandarin song yesterday:
好孩子，
我是男孩子。
好孩子，
我是女孩子。
好孩子！

He also told me that they learnt counting (English & Chinese) by clapping hands and saying the numbers at the same time.

Calix told me this Monday that he'll move to 太陽組 (from 星星組) later.  According to Ms. Lee. they'll change seating after assessments.

Hi HappyJolly,

Yes and 常識 also.  Read from K3's thread that they'd done 常識 & numbers today and it'll be English tmw.  Don't know if K2 follows K3's schedule too.

My son told me about maths assessment only but not general studies.  He said there're 3 pages in the assessment and Ms. Lee would explain the questions to them, e.g. fill in the missing nos. (about between).  Yet it's strange that he told me there's mental at the end of the assessment.  

It's good that they still have recess during assessment period.

Yes, Calix only told me about Maths.  Yet I believe your daughter is right coz many moms from other threads also said that 2 subjects were done yesterday.  Calix seems feeling confused with assessment & worksheets!

They had English assessment today.  The format is similar to the homework exercises, e.g. circle the correct lower case letters; write the capital letters to the corresponding pictures etc..

My son said Ms. Suen asked them to review the Chinese word cards and single words/compound words on the star book.  He also mentioned Ms. Suen asked them to find the 「朋友」 of the words when doing revision, e.g. 「晚」嘅朋友係「上」。But these words were learnt in K1 actually.  Don't know if that's just an example or those words in K1 will also be tested. 

Anyway, tmw will be the last day of 1st assessment.  Let's add oil together!
