Hi Alvin's mom, George made some careless mistakes too but I am not that concerned about it. coz i think it's hard for a 4 old kid make no mistake.  So don't be too worried.  I remember there is a honour student for 2G.  Her is was displayed outside the wall.  You may check when you go to school next time.

By the way, i recall there are two Alvin (Wong and Chan) in the class.  May I know which one is your kid?

How are you? Andrea is so smart that she tells you things going on at school. After reading your post, I asked Alex and he said the same as what Andrea told you. Of course, not as detailed.
I think I need to practise more numbers with him. Math at KV will become harder and harder. Have you enrolled Andrea in any supplement courses out there?
Ah, have you guys started planning on P1 admission yet?
I think I need to start drafting the profile for Alex BUT I have nothing much to put in it.

Yes, Maths will be harder from now on.  In fact, I also found that the standard required for their Chinese and English writing is also higher than before the holiday.

Andrea is currently having her E.Nopi class every Thurs morning.  What attracts me in E.Nopi is just the critical thinking part.  KV is very good at basic maths.  Miss Chiu has once told me that Andrea's mental is good.  That maybe because I would sometimes play Maths games with her.  For example, Andrea pretends to run a restaurant or a shop, I would order some items and asked her the total amount.  At times, I would pay more as required and as her for change.  But be careful when playing this game cos we need to start from small numbers and never have cents.  These will make them very confused.

P1 application - not much done so far, not even the portfolio.  GT will hold their information section in May10.  You can call the school about the information.

I start enrolling Alex in Kumon. I began to realise that speed and accuracy are important after my daughter started her primary one education.
ENopi is also popular too. We really need to get our children prepared for primary education.

Hi Felicia726,

I think to progress further and to work well in Maths, the "10" concept is very very important.  That's why the school has given intensive training in this area.  I have heard from parents of some K3 students (not KV) that sometimes their kids find difficulties in Maths (e.g when a 2 digit number add to a 1 digit number).  I think if the kids have a good understanding in their basic skills, they will have build thier confidence and speed and accuracy will come along :)

Per Andrea, they had assessment in singing and 打拍子 (1,2,3,1,2,3...) yesterday and they still have their mental quiz.  She said Miss Chiu keep reminding them to revise at home as assessments are approaching :)

It's nearly the end of the term now and I only find this topic today!  My daughter Charlotte (可人) is also in K.2G.

Felicia and Andrea mama, I am also a former Maryknoller and I am planning to put Charlotte in MCS Primary too.  

Felicia, how is your daughter doing in MCS?  My friend told me it is quite tough.  Do you think KV's English standard is good enough to survive in MCS?
