Can you share how do you do the English book report with your daughters?  I found that when I read the book to my daughter in English, she doesn't seem to understand the story.  Will you just read the story to your daughters in English only?  Or once in English and repeat in Cantonese?  Or translate the story to her line by line?

Dear ^O^,

I am sure Michele is smart and she can understand the story. I usually read the book or tell her ( without holding the book in my wording ) to Charlene many times and repeat in English ( no Cantonese and no translation ).
Charlene seems to understand but I found that some of the story book from the school is too simple like they have only one word in one page e.g the JUNGLE BOOK which Charlene did it last week. She have no interest in it as it is not a story just some words. She ran aways as I was reading the book!!!! So next day, I pretended to be the Lion and I asked her what lion sound.... she said ROAR and I pretended to be SNake and what snake sound she said hiss..sometime we will do some drama according to the story of the book with my helper or daddy.
I found the most difficult part for Charlene to do the report is asked her to draw.. as she can't draw many things.. usually I or daddy draw for her and she colours

首先係講解一下成個個程, 到大約1:30至3:30, 全程跟住小朋友佢地, 睇住佢地上堂, 到3:30至4:15左右, 老師就會同家長傾下計咁啦...
佢地真係好得意, 比起半年之前初初番學, 個個都大個左好多, 就算我走, 我個女都冇 , 諗起之前開學個時, 我一走, 佢就 :cry: , 依加已經完全冇呢樣野喇.

little_cy, 我都收到新校褸lor, 但係我要m size佢又比左L size我.. 不過算啦今日涷個女係都要著..所以都吾會再換size lor, 呢件褸係厚d同埋重d lor比之前o個件, 但好似係舊款校褸黎甘喎! (吾知我有無記錯呢!)

我阿女今日係都要著, 不過今日實在太凍喇, 所以冇比佢著, 要攪左好耐佢至聽    係就係重過以前個件, 不過暖好多呀.

Recently, I found one Cough Linctus that is really work for my babies. I think you can try it. The medicine could be found in the pharmacy which is named "baby MELTUS Cough Linctus: dilute acetic acid". This medicine is quite mild & is suitable for babies from 3 months up.

Both of my babies take it when they are starting to cough. And normally, it would help them to reduce or even eliminate the coughing symptom for taking it at around 2 days. Worthwhile to try!

*But, if your daughter is coughing for a long time, it is much better for you to bring her to see the doctor.

Thanks for sharing your method in reading english story books.
I told Ms Tsang yestersday about my difficulty in telling the story to Michele, Ms Tsang told me that Ms Luk (the English teacher) also translates the story line by line to Cantonese to the students, and may repeat a few times for complicated sentences.  So, I will follow her method.
Ms Tsang also said that the purpose of this story telling exercise is just to enhance parents-child relationship, so it doesn't matter that the parents draw for the kid.
