Minimum Admission Requirements:
Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE): the completed diploma, including at least 2 elective subjects from Categories A and/or C. Subjects should include prerequisites for intended programs. Mathematics Module 1 (Calculus and Statistics) or Module 2 (Algebra and Calculus) is required for programs with the Calculus prerequisite. Applicants who are not completing Module 1 or 2 may present Advanced Level Mathematics, AP Calculus, or SAT subject test Mathematics II as an alternative.

Minimum grades & prerequisites
•The minimum requirements are the four core subjects (Chinese Language, English, Mathematics and Liberal Studies), as well as two or three elective subjects from category A (academic subject) or category C (foreign languages). Subjects from category B (applied learning subjects) cannot be used for admission. Predicted and final grades of 3 or better in each subject is the minimum, although most programs are more competitive and will require higher grades.

Honours Arts and Business admission requirements for Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) students
Program requirements
Core English language with a minimum final grade of 4. Minimum final overall average of 4.
General requirements
•Successful completion of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination.
•For new senior secondary curriculum (NSS) - Secondary 6 level with passes in at least the four compulsory core subjects plus two or three academic elective subjects from Category "A" or "C".
•English as a Second Language will not satisfy the academic English course requirement.
•University transfer credits for the HKDSE will not be considered at Waterloo.
