That pre/IB by UWC, seems to be an additional year.They can’t take one year pre IB and graduate the same year as their peers.

Ok, I checked UWC Singapore Foundation IB course. They don’t add one year to secondary school but their curriculum is very diverse, with plenty of humanities and arts. Science has elements of physics Chemistry and Biology.

Only a few UWC offer Foundation IB year, HK UWC doesn’t. When they offer FIB, they have a wide range of topics quite consistent with IB.   And they don’t choose 6 IBDP subjects one year before IBDP.

So they are “less weird”.

請問 SPCC 系點樣教中、英文？ 同其他local schools 有嘜唔同？

有Form 7 年代，國際學校Year 13期等於本地Form 幾？


定以前制度，小一至中七，共13年，一向比英國遲一年入讀?


我只覺得HK制度是compress 了一年，本應IGCSE應該F5考，變了F4。
以前F5等於Y11。而家F4等於Y11

英基現在仍是13年，year 1等如本地幼稚園k3，所以year 11考gcse是本地中四

So in the old HK system, F7 grads are 1 year older than Y13? and now they are on par?

I am just interested to know what has changed given the change in the local school system

,有沒有機會拔尖入大學，其實我覺得考到10A*已經好勁。

因為之前聽過有啲家長話有啲學生考完IGCSE可以拔尖入大學,

初初我都唔明佢哋講乜,現在聽你說我開始明白了，

因為之前一路以為考IGCSE 是為比學生考IB 前，實習下考公開試。又或者睇吓佢哋適唔適合考IB.

例如，例如如果讀st paul convent，f4 考 igcse 有12A*，那f5 開學去報non jupas 有機會被拔尖可以不用讀f6？

You are so confused.

GCE O level was replaced by GCSE in the eighties (I think) and both O level and GCSE have always been exams to be taken at the end of British year 11, or American Grade 10.

British year 11 is equivalent in age to HK Form 4.

GCSE is not SUPPOSED to be examed in F5 and now compressed to F4.  There has never a time year 11 is F5.  Compression never happened as far as I can tell.   There was no change.   HK pupils are not supposed to take (I)GCSE anyway.

咁所有學校都差唔多一樣啦
個爭拗點係pre ib 讀幾多科
同傳統ib school同國際學校有乜嘢分別
邊一個 制度對學生好啲
呢一個唔係公開試成績考得好唔好嘅問題
當然如果嗰啲新派ib school中三已經讀曬igcse, myp 另作別論
如果係咁我只能讚 學校及學生好野

你誤會了，LS IB streams 「無」比lS讀多一年考lB。

人地讀十科忙於考 IGCSE, 佢讀六科預早準備lBDP，梗係選擇問題。問題係呢個選擇係咪合理，以學生教育為本，定以拿分為本，對孩子的發展有沒有牺牲？

不是所有LS IB school 讀六科 - 有學校是讀中英數+ 4 科（Humanities / Science） + VA + MUSIC + PE

當然你可以挑剔話無考IGCSE 公開試是著數左！
