 Hi Ian,

Thank you for your sharing.  Your posts are great and I did learn a lot and grasp some information here.  I am a very lazy working mother, don't want to bring my boy to learn this and that for the sake of some awards and certificates in order to "construct" a wonderful portfolio.  If he is interested in something and wants to learn something will be a separate issue.  I would rather to take him to do whatever we like during off days.  As for kindergarten application, I did a lot of research before, made an excel table showing all details and progress of the targeted schools.  At last he only went to one school for his 11-month-old interview and got the place.  Since the philosophy of the school suits us, I then accepted the offer for no bother these few years.

Speaking primary school application which I now start collecting information.  I believe the essence should be the kid's performance during the interview instead of a beautiful submitted profile.  If the kid is bright and smart, with decent and proper bring up, perform well during the interview,  it shouldn't be hard for him/her to get a place.  Just is like your daughter.  However, for some "average" kids, a good profile may be able to get him/her a chance to attend the interview though not the offer.

Education now in HK, is really a headache for parents. Especially for a newly mother like me.  Thanks to EK, a platform which I obtained much information, which also help me to make a choice to my boy.

Last but no the least, I found you're a gentlemen, from all your replies, even towards those with some personal attacks.
