學好英文或是中文?

有心唔怕迟.  有次介紹一位无国界医生, 本是一名英国的英文老师. 三十七岁那年突然间很有感召要为穷苦服务,于是往南美习医后,(最少五至八年吧), 加入无国界医生行列. 真的是life without limits. 原来三十七岁,仲有得重新選择.

谁人在google有多点相关资料, 请分享之. 让孩子读之!

Medical doctor is not for everyone, more than just academic excellence.

I attended both admission talks of CUHK & HKU's medical schools with my son. Not just the useful info, some graduates' sharings are reviewing. I chatted with a Prof of CUHK after the talk, he shared with me that his job as the admission officer, he is not finding the brightest students to study medicine, but the students with passion and academically good students.

My son joined an attachment program in QMH for a couple of weeks, he saw life and death in front of him ...... open and endocsopic surgery, out-patient, night shift ........ He was in private hospital as shadow last Christmas, he made some comparison to us last night, it's fun. I reminded him to tell the joke to the interviewers if he got a chance.

Is it the profession you want for the coming 40 years??? Yes or no is fine to me.

If he finalises to take medicine, then predicted grade will be his coming hurdle, 40+ excluded bonus points.

Yes, they should be finding the fittest, not the brightest.  Glad to learn that you've done a lot of research.

I always think the brightness students should go for humanity or pure science for the benefit of mankind. Leave the mediocre be the professionals.

然香港的大学似乎是资源傾斜政策, 教育目标注重训练professionals. 舜速投进人力市场  ,朋友在港教历史, 常说今天无孩子選历史科了. 家长也不鼓励,  很可惜!

I like the program, some friends from the medical industry told me that the procedure is so real and those equipments are what they use in OT.

傅瑩不僅英文了得，外形更令我贊嘆， 看了她的相片，就明白何為[growing older gracefully]。

傅瑩1953年1月出生在呼和浩特市。她的父親阿民，是內蒙古著名哲學家艾思奇的學生，曾官至中共內蒙古軍區宣傳部副部長[1]。16歲時，傅瑩就響應號召，到內蒙古的一個農場進行勞動。1970年，傅瑩進入當時的內蒙古生產建設兵團廣播站工作，並開始自修高中課程。三年後，她作為「工農兵學員」，被推薦到北京外國語學院英語系學習，並選擇第二外語為法語，後又學習羅馬尼亞語。

應該是天分 + 努力 + 之后在外國當了多年外交官的歷練， 才成就了她現在的英文能力。

傅瑩成長的年代，相信全中國都沒有幾個講英文的鬼佬。
