School have three letters from each applicants.

1st letter inform you the date of 1st interview.

2nd letter either inform you the date of 2nd interview or ask you to wait unit the final result release.

3rd letter either inform you the result (success or fail)

Almost all successful canadidates have 2nd interview unless they have special background (highly recommended by Donald Tsang)

In the past, all 1st interviews were conducted by headmistress who can decide   fate of the candidates.

In these two years, 1st interviews are conducted by teachers who cannot make final decision.
Headmistress will conduct 2nd interview and determine the candidates ' s fate.

It is why successful candidates have 2nd interview.

You can tell by reading the date of the chop... I think the one with 26 Oct would be the rejection letter....

if one BK parent said is true: that for 1st interview the teachers or staff could not go through the applicant's information such as portfolio, then of course they need the second interview!

I doubt whether they can really find All the good candidates by just testing the kids in that interview without looking at their achievements/results etc. Kids' performance is not stable. I think this also explains why they need to select extra batches last year for 2nd interview. I think they should at least look at the portfolios to see what efforts her parents have put in to nurture the kids and what are their talents, ability etc.

No wonder my friend said her son's classmate who is only repeating K2 now can also get into 2nd interview! I really believe that the teachers didn't have any information about the kid in 1st in.

I would say that the previous method, i.e. interviewing all by the principal is a better and fairer way, she knows which kid suits her school and also she can assess her together with all the information submitted.

One BK parent said that her girl was No. 1 in her K2 class and got offer of scholarship from a DSS primary school but still couldn't get a 2nd in from DGJS. I think that parent should not be upset, it is DGJS's loss and not yours, your daughter can still get very good grades in exams in other schools, even better grades than girls in DGJS, so cheer up!

interview時每group考d野都唔同 (有d好似好行貨只係玩, 有d長d時間考多d野), 其實會唔會已經按資料分左類?

不用2ND IN 就打電話叫佢註冊, 是因為這間直資小學
由上年開始已不需要2nd interview。

至於K2成績方面, 個間幼稚園成績表都無寫名次。成績好最多送張Honor Cert俾小朋友, 要向心儀小學證明自己考第一, 是比較困難。

我都想知道王錦輝究竟是提供獎學金定係助學金給這位小朋友。學校又會否主動提供給剛剛成功入選的小一申請人。

My kid got a lot of medals. She also got a lot of distinctions in examinations. After the DGJS 1st interview, she told me that the interview was the easiest one among all. She could even remember all the instructions. However, she could not even get a 2nd interview chance. May be the interview was not challenging enough and there was a lot of waiting time. Then, she kept talking with the other kids. Teachers always don't like the talkative kids. This way of interview method stop them from getting the smartest kids.

見到很多家長很失望,又些又很不服氣..其實大家都想自己的女兒能考進一間有150年歷史的真正名校, 有些爸媽認為拿些甚麼cert., 甚麼medal會有用..其實是沒用的,很多名校校長都講過這些都是泿廢金錢, 他們睇的只是同樣難得的真正官方証書, 如"香兒"之類, 當然如果有高官, 教會高層的介紹信就更十拿九穩, 但係不是所有人會有。我相信曾蔭權不會為所有他認識的小朋友寫介紹信..
校方一定有他的收生標准..硬說校方不公平就不如問問自己你能配合他們的"理念"嗎??遊戲有遊戲的法則嗎!

"香兒" no use.
Their system is fine.
In first round, they don't need to look at the profile. They simply eliminate those kids that fails certain criterions. For instance, kids only started to answer while teacher had repeated the same questions in Chinese. During story time, those kids cannot perform well will be eliminated as well.
So, left behind were kids who could perform consistently.
Well it might not be perfect. However, it left ~500 candidates for second interviews. By then Ms. Dai have sufficient of time to review these final candidates.

those medals and certification were not obtained by spending money. she really won among a lot of competitors. In terms of chance of getting the 2nd interview. it is more difficult to get all those medals and distinctions. there is nothing fair or not. sometimes it is a kind of luck. however, who knows at the end. just feel upset after working hard for the past 1 year.
