btw, which kinder didn't change syllabus for over 10 yrs, pls give me some hint coz i don't want to pick a wrong Kg for my kid. I am the first time mum & have to pick KG for my 2nd one next yr...

Practically, I am difficult to judge which kindergarden is better as I never know the P1 arrange result from all of famous kindergardens, like KV/ York/ St Cat etc. And those parents are hide the results. So, it is so passive when you say good or not without any evidences indeed.

We are so difficult to judge which 1 can give better future to our childs. All kindergardens have their own strength like

KV: All childs very proactive on study, good academic.

York: Very good Engligh + Cert to prove the standard of English

However, I am quite sure that, York trying to catch the Primary market! KV still stay in their own place.

york都收左我個仔 2010 k1 am,我只係in 左 york 同 st.cat,因為個時唔知york收唔收.還有 kv,stafford,創價,未in
我諗都唔會in,因為york收左.同埋in個時我覺得個仔有壓力,in完後就唱歌,我諗佢真係有壓力.

純粹個人意見, 我覺得一個小朋友考唔考到好學校, 同間幼稚園唔係咁大關係, 因為小朋友就算係學校表現好好, 但出去面試時狀態唔好都無用...

但我覺得出去面試, 英文都係一間關建, 你諗下, 一個可以用completed sentences 作答英文既小朋友, 比起一d仲用單字作答的點都會有差別... 而且york 教小朋友英文都有其一手, 形式並不局限於課室或書本, 而是融入生活中... 令小朋友不自覺地喜愛英語, 當然, 現在的小朋友都好叻, 自小或已用英語與工人/父母溝通, 所以都唔駛怕.

而York 的證書是FOR 叩門用的, 我識好多家長面試時小朋友考得唔好, 但好多叩門, 無論政府定DSS /私立都叩到!

我聽校長講過, 係佢地收番嚟既data, 多於一半考到叫出名既小學, (佢地有個list 會recommend 小學), 而其它都考到好學校... 只是可能無咁出名, 但詳細係點我又唔知喎... 不過, 我聽上年mami講, 佢地好多叩政府/ DSS/ 私立都叩到, 但係咪真我就唔清楚...

其實我想講York 中文都唔弱, 寫字都深同好多er, 而數就係英數... 不過我覺得數教得有D慢....

或者我覺得小朋友讀書路漫長, 何不搵一間讀得好又玩得開心既幼稚園呢? 就係咁簡單, 想當年我真係無諗得咁複雜, 只要佢讀得開心, 個人自然smart 啦, 考學校時咪會醒d 囉 , 不過都要計埋父母自己既parenting, 呢樣都好重要呀!!

每間幼稚園都係好幼稚園, 但要記住一所適合小朋友性格發展的幼稚園是最重要, 小朋友的天真活潑是要發放出來, 太過刻板的操練教學, 只是扼殺他們的活力, 係咪?

最好叫你老公送你o地去o地去o左創價先之後先去 york 聽, 因我見有o的 post 話創價鐘意父母一齊去interview. 你老公唔入去interview 唔緊要, 你o地早o的去創價入面玩一陣. 之後你老公先去york. 到時如果創價o的老師問起你的小朋友邊個帶佢interview佢都識答爸爸媽媽. (但不知會不會問).
york果度最緊要係張聽講証, 如果你老真係冇心機聽, 到時你問我啦!

想請問已被york取錄的家長, 你地interview 時係咪daddy 媽咪一齊去in呢?  我今個星期六去in, 不過daddy要返工, 唔知一個家長帶會唔會冇咁好?

We has been accpeted by York am class and my husband also came to the interview with us. But according to my observation they're more concern with the kids ability as the teacher haven't ask us any questions on parenting or why do we like their school. Anyway just for your reference it is better to have 2 persons to play with your kid before the interview as we had waited for almost 45mins and I'm sure it will be too much for me if I go alone with my little one.

好呀~我到時唔明再問你地丫,
因為預左佢都係發夢架啦~york果到話聽左講座會優先收,
所以要分頭行事, 不過其實york收晒生未架呢, 我地呢d咁遲d in, 我有想過放棄, 好似又係去做戲咁呀!!!
好似KM咁呀, 都明知有N, K會收小生, 但我果日見到都有2箱A4箱咁高GA APP. FORM!!!
希望快D有OFFER啦, 等我之後果D唔駛去見啦~

Some findings to share (not sure if all TRUE but you can use it as ref):

Interview - no need both parents to go & only 1 parent allows to do accompany kid for interview, my husband didn't attend it.

聽講証 - they use for reference only, you can collect 聽講証 & leave early. They won't know who you are.

Admission rate : received 2k applications this yr & will take 300+ kids. (1:6) not sure, seems all get offer.

P1 allocation - 25% will go to band 1 (including DSS).
(out of 300 kids = 75kids??)

Prepartory class - will be offer to those kids who become 2yrs 8mths old in Jan/Feb-2010.

Shall I pay deposit????????????

for YORK, yes, there's "NO NEED" for both parents to go into the interview room with the kid, this is not required, but if you'd prefer, both parents can go in together. not like St. Cath, can't even enter the front door. 8P
