My younger son gave me a surprise too today. When I rang back home. He followed his father to ask "幾時返黎呀? 媽媽!". This is the longest copy cat sentence he can speak! Usually, he can only copy 3 words

agree with kakab105.  Sometimes we are not sure whether our kids like the toys or not.  If they do not like them, may waste.  Better borrow in Parents Resources Center.

我托了我的"協康"老師找 st 幫我買 練手力膠, 我買"綠色", 因囝囝喜歡橙色 & 黃色, 我怕囝囝5 寫得玩, 而"藍色"是最硬的.

今日見完評估, 囝囝對dr 的玩具, 沒有多大興趣, 結果: 玩玩具 2y, 理解能力 1.5 y, 說話就只得1y, (因全程囝囝都不肯說, 而英文 good, dr 又說不算, 只跟dr 說, 呯呯. )
      
而有個玩具的玩法, 連dr 都好大意外, 玩得好過dr & 我地, ( 因有架玩具拖車, dr 5 識將架車頭 & 車卡連接一起, 而囝囝將木皮放在沒有車蓋的司機位, 而司機就插在車頭上. 所以dr 就有好大意外 )     但另1樣, dr 將d超小的公仔, 梳, 刀,叉, 凳, 但囝囝只是同公仔梳頭, 拿刀比公仔食, 其它5肯玩.      :cry:  
現在要排 "i"位, & "e" 位.

依家你可以試下俾小朋友返學; 唔好俾佢睇太多電話, 盡能力cut; 教小朋友野, 要拿到佢attention先好講, 唔好只係得你講, 佢根本無聽.

我都認同2歲幾果段時候最難捱(我仔仔係2歲開始講單字, 講單字講足11個月先有兩詞三詞, 期間成日發脾氣>依家好少少). 不過都無辦法, 事實上真係無靈丹妙藥可以令小朋友一下子學懂講說話.

最後想提你一句(我成日都同新入黎既媽咪咁講)~唔好將自己個小朋友同其他人比較, 剩係同自己比好了. 有進步就已經好值得高興, 故勿論個進步係幾細都好, 都要覺得欣慰. 抱住咁既態度過日子, 就會過得快樂一啲.

想請問你們小朋友的介片經驗係點架？我仔下星期足3歲啦。我從他2歲多d 時已試圖幫佢介片，但始終唔成功。佢而家係訓覺出街先用片，而在家時我地係每隔一陣子便"的" 佢去廁所，因佢有時急都唔會出聲，so 佢時不時都會賴濕少少條褲。而家天氣回暖，仔返緊的幼兒園要我仔開始介片，唔俾著片褲返學。開始左幾日，日日放學都見佢有換過晒衫褲便知佢又"衰左" 啦，都幾心"up" ，個仔學mud都慢d，唔知何時先介得甩片，又唔知會唔會有"叮一聲" 開 "hill" 個日........唉! :cry:

有d野想請教:
我大仔3.5 yrs 評估話 speech delay 9 month. Near the age of 5, assessment shows he had catch up the language development. He's now 5.5 years old. I doubt that he has speech delay as his speech development is quite weak as compared with his classmates and other kids of the same age.
佢講野成日唔到point, 聽覺記憶 is short (can only copy cat 5-7 words). Weak in playing Sequence Cards (4-5 cards). When he speaks Chinese, the sound likes 鬼仔 speaks Chinese. And he can't pronounce "th" and "r" sound properly. He always 流口水 when he's very concentrated.

So, I brought him 評估 again this month. I've told the ST about my boy's problem before assessment but the ST confirmed that "no speech delay" and no problem on pronouncation. She claimed that he can pronounce correctly if he repeats and speaks slower. Part of the assessment is to ask him describe some pictures: market, dinner time, beach. My boy only describe the picture using some single adjactives, single verbs and nouns in a quite messy way (e.g. buy food, teach to swim, sand, dinner, help put chopsticks...etc).  But still pass the test. The ST is quite young. I wonder if the assessment is accurate.  Or, the kids nowadays are too smart?

Can you give me some advise? Thank you!

軒軒都未算成巧, 係屋企都還好d, 有時佢會自己去potty度除褲all, but一玩到慶起, 就會濕小小, 跟住自己除褲, 還要'唯'屍滅跡, 將條濕底褲放落污衣桶度.  跟住指住佢間房講褲褲.

出街未有信心比佢不著片片出街, 但夏天黎緊我會試law, 因為大個仔還著住條片出街好醜怪.

好開心呀, 囡囡終於響琴日下午有output啦.  婆婆日日黎我屋企揍阿女, 我放工就會接更, 佢每日回家出門口時我都要囡囡同婆婆bye bye, 以前佢只會做動作唔會出聲講bye bye, 琴晚佢突然出聲講bye bye, 我都以為佢係隨口發音. 點知今早佢爸爸出門口返工, 我亦叫囡囡同爸爸bye bye, 佢做動作之餘又出聲講bye bye呀.  好開心呀, 唔知同佢響星期日做評估有冇關係呢, 不過佢星期日做完評估後發聲真係多咗好多呀.

"I've told the ST about my boy's problem before assessment but the ST confirmed that "no speech delay".   I feel that passing the ST assessment and conducting fluent & interactive communication are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.  More exposure and stimulation in daily life context may enhance his communication skill.  I am also working on it.  My son, just 5 now, is still 6 or less than 6 months delay in ST assessment, but my ST asks me not to worry too much as he can communicate and express himself.  

Don't compare your child with his classmates; it is very unfair to you and to your child.  I adopt the doctrine that I should feel happy if my child can do better today than what he did yesterday.

My child is still using diaper at night.  He may urine 1 to 2 nights out of 10.  I try not to let him drink any fluid after 7 o'clock, but he may urine at times.  Can you give me any advice???  Thanks.

早呀, 言語治療師話囡囡並唔係太差, 不過就怕佢右耳聽覺有問題, 而佢言語遲緩就好似話慢咗大半年到, 係可以慢慢追番, 我會囡囡每星期日去TRAIN 半粒鐘呀.  下星期三囡囡就會去大口環做評估喇, 到時再比醫生CHECK o下佢耳仔有冇問題lor.
