Re: "Biomedical Treatment - Parents' Group "
Dear all,
First, let me clarify that according to the Red Blood Cell Elements (Click) collection instruction, no mineral supplements should be taken 72 hours before the blood draw. This is to enable the blood test to check out what essential minerals are not enough and so as to decide what supplements should be taken. But Dr. X didn't tell me this before and I think this is really 'waste gas' for the blood test.
RBC is regarding the 'current status', i.e. the assessment of ongoing or very recent EXPOSURE to specific toxic elements. It does not provide information about the net retention of the metals in the body. That's mean my son has less toxic exposure currently but there is still toxic elements in my son's body, i.e. chelation is still required.
My son will have another pulse of oral DMSA coming weekend, I'll collect the urine this Sunday for the Urine toxic metals (Click) test. Dr. X interpretes the report as how many toxic metals left behind in the body. However, according to Dr. U, the urine test only measures how effective the chelation agent is doing, e.g. if high mercury level shown in the report, it means the chelation agent is effective in pulling out mercury.
All the above is my personal opinion based on information over the website only. Actually, Dr. X gave no explanation about the report and just asked me to continue the oral DMSA.
For improvement, right after the 1st pulse of low dose DMSA, my son is very affectionate to us and sudden good eye contact. Thereafter, no obvious change but I notice he was more talkative and made meaningful (but simple) comment of things happened / around him right after each pulse of DMSA.
Whether it's worth to do chelation, I think we have to check out whether there's really toxic metal problem. . Last year August, we just started biomedical treatment and did the Hair Elements (Click) test. For mercury, the ref. range <0.4, he was 7.2. My son has severe mercury toxicity. At that time, he was 5.5 years old and very little improvement overall, that's why I let him try such kind of risky treatment. For other parents, I think you really need to think twice. |
