Hi Papa_pop, thank you so much for your input as that gives me some support although my girl might not get the seat to the coming P1, I still would like to think that CKY is a really good school in terms of its software (i.e. the Principal and the teachers). In any event, the waiting peiord is way too long. I believe most of the school has released their result and CKY is almost the last one. With nathanael's message saying there is more people receiving CKY's call for a 2nd in in the coming future is really confusing as I thought the 2nd procedure has ended in the beginning of Dec 2006. If I can't receiving anything from CKY by the end of this week, I will feel really bad as I think everyone has really waited for a long time. Hope the school admin can understand how the parents feel.

I called CKY today.
The lady at the phone could not give me a definite date for announcement of result. She said no information at hand for her!! She don't even know if the result will be out by January.    

To me, "After Christmas" may mean:
1. After June 07, after the grand lucky draw
2. Before the coming Christmas on 25 Dec 07

Being a CKY parent, a hint to all parents waiting for CKY result - bear in mind 「食得鹹魚抵得渴」！

And you should appreciate you can really taste the real situation before your kid enter this school cos' regret for any misconception of the school only affect or harm your kid the most, not the school itself!

To be fair, I don't think it's the intention of anyone here to bad-mouth the school as most, if not all of us, are waiting for an offer from the school!!  We're just sharing our updated news here but regretably, the result announcement has been delayed and delayed, not even know when will it be actually released.

In response to some previous threads about the interview and alternative site, I have just taken out and read the letter from the principal again.  Would like to share my personal opinions/queries in mind:

1) The letter says "The interview process has now come to a close"--> It's amazing if the school is at this moment still calling someone for a second interview?!

2) "We are considering an alternate campus for Year 1 which will be more suitable"-->If it was not typo, I would also interpret it as an alternative site for Year 1, maybe separated from other primary years, otherwise, the letter should use "rimary" instead of "Year 1".  It's the school who creates the rumour and misconception.   

3) "We have decided to postpone mailing out the results of the interview process until after Christmas" -->I think it is a reasonable expectation that after Christmas means we can have the result on 27-29 Dec when postman service is available.  It seems that we all got it wrong as after Christmas= after Christmas holiday, after New Year holiday, after and after...  It's with deep regret that the school still adopting a delaying tactic and cannot tell us poor parents when we can have the result.  I do appreciate the school is busy with the removal work but it is not desirable to offer promise which they cannot meet and keep on disappointing us...

Above are just my personal opinions and observations.  My apology if offending anyone as it is not my wilful intention.  Hope that we can have the good news from school very very soon.

Dear Funfamily,

Start from this year, there is no more Primary 1 or 2.....etc., all of them are called as "Year 1", "Year 2".....etc.  That means, Year 1 = Primary 1, that is just the name.

As a parent, I totally understand it is really a torture to wait for the result.  I had such experience two years ago.  Anyway, good luck to all of you.

Dear potential CKY parent,

I am not trying to protect the school but just provide some guess to why there is delay in the announcement on the result.
1. They are busying to prepare the movement.
2. If I were the school, I will deliberately delayed the announcement until most of other school did it since if parent still registered their kid will means that they will surely appear on the coming sept.. They are not worrying the intake problem now since they know what's the competitive adv. of themself.
3. They are used to be slow motion(just in time?) and wait for the final confirmation by principal.

All these are just purely guess and hope CKY PTA member can help to ask school and give a clear picture on it.

My friend also called the office last Friday.  But the lady told her that she didn't know when the result will be announced as they were waiting for the principal's instruction?!

Perhaps you have misinterpreted me. The exact words used in the letter are "We are considering an alternate campus for Year 1 which will be more suitable"--> That's why we are led to believe that the campus for Year 1 is different from other school years, no matter secondary or primary.

Sorry for misinterpreting your message.  I think I should ask the teacher to check whether they will really separate those year 1 students with the others?!

I have received the letter from CKY this morning,   so happy that my daughter is being accepted.   But the temp campus for Year 1 is still not confirmed...........

Congratulations!!!!    Welcome to CKY, hope we will meet at the school in the future.  (But still no one knows where is the temp campus for Year 1 )  May be we are not in the same campus?!?!?!

We are also very happy to receive their letter today about their acceptance of my girl. My daughter is so excited about that as this is the best school she likes after all the interviews, the teachers, staff members, parents are all so friendly and reasonable.

Looking forward to join the family of CKY.
