Yes, feedbacks are heard and they help a bit   
However, I think this is probably a common issue for HK famous local schools in general.

The standards nowadays are so much harder than our years!

yes I wanna know too, are they generally happy at school? And those tsa papers, are they the standards for most schools in hk? would you say the school work are somewhat similar in other schools as well? that, this is not a problem that happens in rc  ONLY ?

We have a new principal this year. There are many changes this year but I can see that the school is trying to improve the academic level while they are also willing to hear feedback to fine tune.
In my impression, kids are very happy at school. They are well behaved and enjoy going to school.

However, due to the increase of workload, it means kids have less time to play, or even time to read. In our case my son works like a machine every day.

Tests are much more difficult than before, much longer and not easy, so many people fail their tests.

Different kids may have different ways to handle stress, my son is ok, but some kids who have high expectation on themselves will have high stress. Parents apparently are much more stressful.

It is a great school and it is not easy to get a place in RC. Just be prepared and set the right expectation.

There are still many smart kids here who can still handle well and can do a lot of ECA and join the school teams.

We are using 樂思教育出版的高效TSA評估試卷。
With my limited info from my friend circle, RC seems to be at the tough side. But I suspect other famous schools like St. Joseph, Paul Boys, Sacred Heart Private, Co-ed., are probably similar.

i think the academic level is really tough in RC given that RC is already half year advance in the syllabus.  Parents must be so stressful in this case.

That's why someone said the school loved full time mon.  Don't know this is true.

agree that it will be stressful, however if this is the same case in most top schools, unless we are going down a level, we have to give it a go... but if rc is the only school facing this problem, then this is something we need to take into consideration.

so, would you be kind enough to let us know if this problem is the ONLY problem in RC, or it happens to other schools as well?? THANKS SO MUCH!!!

I can't really represent all parents from different schools to answer this question. I can only say different schools have different strategy to  improve their academic standard, some starts with P1 students, some starts with P4 students. Normally for most government aided schools, they won't teach in advance level. 有D學校, 教返same level, 但問得深入D, 睇吓學生係咪真係完全明白個concept, 題目刁鑽。有D學校就一開始教高半級/一級, 等學生到小五, 小六考呈分試, Pre-S1試 level 高D。

每間名校都想學生叻, 學生勁, 一定會谷, 只不過方法唔同。其實講咁多, 都係好睇小孩是否適合/配合到學校。

塘邊鶴講句: 有朋友孩子讀緊小一, 亦有讀緊小四, 亦有朋友兒子讀緊中學. 小一的媽媽說頗辛苦, 不停默書測驗考試, 努力爭取才不計測驗分; 小四的孩子, 今年說很忙, 少了課外活動.

當然不只是RC有這情況, 只是覺得學校有些急於求成, 再為學校提高banding. 一心諗住入直資, 又有直屬中學, 可以正常一點, 不用似津學官校般壓力大, 怎知現在功課不比津學官校少, 一班人數又多. 尤甚是去年中學, 收少了小學生, 多收了一些外校生.

因此才有樓上現在有子女就讀 RC 的父母, 對將入讀的提出一些忠告, 有定一些心理準備.

之前都有家長問過，有d marginal case校長諗緊，但無解釋是offer，waiting定reject嘅marginal case
