if i hire a new maid, i will get on the school bus at kennedy town
if not, then cwb...

also, I still hope i can receive the call from KCIS for asking my daughter to go for interview.....

我又見完家長返來, 因為上次我老公去唔到, 老師覺得有d野要同我地兩個傾, 再決定下步點, 所以又傾左45分鐘.

見完老師後, 我老公嘅反應係: 1. 阿女就一定唔會轉  2.  阿仔都要入埋.

我有乘機問下以後學校發展, 因為我知道呢位老師係新校發展有好大參與, 佢話中文將來會分兩個stream, 因為人冇esf咁多, 而佢地搵左幫esf設計中文課程嘅人來設計佢地嘅課程.

中學方面, 老師話佢又參加懂事會, 學校方面認同佢地有責任提供中學教育, 比小朋友接上去, 所以佢叫我唔洗擔心, 呢樣係一定會做.  當時呢樣都係好幾年後嘅事, 所以多少都係講個信字.

因為我個仔收到英基面試信, 所以我都好open同佢講, 問佢點樣比較英基同swck, 佢話swck嘅小朋友純d, 願意聽多d, 有創意...係一d好難用筆墨或數字去quantify嘅好.  

另外, 佢話好多學校而家都唔比加入基督教原素, 所以今年我阿女個班會做一個耶穌誕生嘅play, 佢感覺好好, 佢話即使唔係教徒, 其實基督教都係導人向善.  我都唔係教徙, 但好同意.  而家社會嘅誘惑同資訊太多, 人真係要自己把持一下.  我走走時碰到英基一d初中生放學, 我老公同我見到都希望阿女係一間基督教學校成長, 會純品d.

上星期正式家長日係同時見中文同英文老師, 我冇諗過英文溝通問題, 有機會幫你問下.  

我地鍾意swck, 除左佢係基督教, 最重要係因為佢真係好有愛心, 我點樣係到講都係冇用, 要入左去自己感受.  我只能夠講, 佢地會盡力做到no child is left behind, 因為唔係睇能力收生, 所以係真正嘅有教無類.

I don't think you should worry too much.  If Father God thinks your daughter should go into SWCK, then He will also arrange how she gets to school!!  Plus from my experience, Castle Brothers will not commit anything despite how many times you call them beforehand, until around 2 weeks before school starts.  If they have gathered sufficient demand, they may consider opening another route for Kennedy Town.  That was what happened to us 2 years ago.  They didn't have the Braemer Hill/Cloud View Road route for PM classes before, but somehow that Sept intake there were a few from that area, so we managed to get onto schoolbus no problem.  So keep your fingers crossed, and hope you won't let the school bus arrangement be a deterring factor for choosing SWCK.  Like elmostoney, it's so hard and no use to tell you how wonderful SWCK is, unless and until you feel it for yourself.

One more thing - the bus drivers and the bus mothers are all very nice.  Every seat has a harness (strapped onto the shoulders like a backpac) for young children, unlike some other big bus companies with only a lap belt.  So even it is slightly more expensive, you would feel your child is safe in their hands.  Don't get too put off by Castle Brothers, sometimes they are quite nice ga!!

Congratulation! KCIS is a good school. I still have not received call. I think my boy is not up to standard. I hope my boy can thrive in SWCK.

有一個point我想係到同大家分享. 大家有冇聽過健腦操（brain gym)? 由一月份開始，班主任會用一套類似健腦操嘅紐西蘭教材，係每朝上堂前同小朋友一齊做．我唔知大家對運動有物睇法，但我ｄ小朋友以前係菁一（Best concept montessori，in fact，我個細仔仲返緊），老師好注重運動同埋唔同嘅動作，對手腳眼協調及對腦部發展嘅關係，佢地仲特登係台灣請左一個經驗豐富嘅老師來train佢地嘅老師，同對我地家長開免費講座，當時呢位老師介紹左我睇一本書，係美國一個運動心理學家寫嘅，其中一章係講學習同運動嘅開係．近十幾年係美國開有一個program，就係注重每朝上堂前要學生做運動，佢地統計發現不分經濟，背景同任何因素，所以有係朝早做運動嘅學生學習能力都比之前強，而係個別貧民區，有問題嘅學生不單學業成績進步，而且行為都改善左．　因為好多科學家之前認為腦細胞死左就死左（如果我嘅用詞不當，係因為我唔記得叫物野細胞啦），但係而家發現原來運動會令新嘅細胞生長．好多學校都只係重視成績，就算唔係只睇成績嘅都唔會太重視運動，所以我覺得老師走在前端．佢仲同我講，要做多ｄ手腳交义嘅運動，如果我唔係之前接觸過，其實我都唔了解，但我知道，做多ｄ呢類運動，對兩邊腦溝通係好有幫助，會建立兩邊腦之間多ｄ橋樑，換句話說，轉數都快ｄ．所以SWCK識得咁做，我相信係香港唔多學校有咁嘅知識，大家可能都係以為運動只係比小朋友郁下，等佢地健康ｄ咁，其實背後意義深遠．

我一直都有睇SWCK 的thread… 知道SWCK 是一間caring 學校… 因為地區問題(我住新界) 沒有報SWCK, 而報了NIS… NIS不是popular 國際學校. 學生也不多, 學生不用穿校服, 校舍好似村校…  不過NIS 同SWCK 同是 Generations Christian Education 辦..  … 究竟NIS是否可同SWCK睇齊??

而SWCK 會成立中學…是不是 NIS secondary?  因為Generations Christian Education的WEB SITE 也寫NIS secondary…

NIS 已收了我兩個仔… 自己十分矛盾.. 應唔應該讀NIS??  現時入其他IS是十分困難… 而NIS 好像太hea… 怕6年後, 無競爭力入其他IS /LS..
