Difference between G1, G2 G3

Which group is your girl in?

My girl is in G1 but I guess schedule for the quizes and dictations for all groups should be more or less the same, right?

My daughter is in G1, too. Just received the dictation list yesterday. We are busy in this week - Chinese dictation today, Math Quiz on Friday & English Dictation on 27/4. Luckily, my maid likes urging my daughter to do the revision on English dictation everyday.

For G2, they also have Japanese quiz on 4/27.

Sara and Little-duck, are your girls in G1 for all the subjects?

my daughter is in G1 for Math & English, while for Chinese, my daughter is in G2....I admit that her Chinese is rather weak....

Yes, my girl is in G1 for all subjects except Life Education is in G2.  Frankly, her Chinese is also a bit weak comparing to the other subjects!  (I think Chi standard for SM kids are normally a bit weaker than the other local schools)!

Japanese and English both need to spell the words, I worry about whether or not they can handle the two different languages' spelling at the same day.

Why they need to spell the Japanese words - I thought those are pronounciations, not Japanese words.

I am very exhausted after doing revisions with my boy on Maths.  No time to think about English dictation yet, not to say spelling the Japanese.  My God...

This quiz will be done in writing instead of oral, if they can pronounce it, but can not write the "letter" correctly, I think they can not have good result.

It is in Multiple Choice form as far as I understand.  So, just let them to recognise is ok la.

I just learnt about this and fell down on the floor.

Did you babies get good marks in last GS quiz.  Heard from other parents that quite a number of them got 60s.

My two babies got marks 88 & 82 last GS quiz. My girl said your boy was better than her.

My boy is in between your babies.  Considering he got only 62 in the first GS quiz, I am quite happy with his progress.  I find him more proactive in learning after he moved to Maths G1.  He told me that Maths G1 is more quiet during the class while G2 is quite noisy with some classmates talking a lot.

Do you find GS the most difficult subject?

After May 4, there should be one more Maths and GS quiz (usually 2 in a term).  Hurry up...

In fact, I really find that the G.S. quiz is quite difficult. I remember some questions.e.g. " How can you serve your relatives & seniors? "
There are short questions that are difficult for P.1 students. BUT I really astonish that my daughter can answer it! Frankly speaking, I believe that even some F.1 students in EMI secondary students cannot answer such kind of questions!
BUT my daughter is really weak in Chinese.....She just use too much time to do the Chinese workbook as she cannot do it......I just wonder if there is any assistance on her......

No worry la.  I am sure your daughter is definitely above average.  It is just a few months.  Give her more time.

Does your girl read Chinese books?  You may find some interesting pictures and make some sentences related to the pictures with her - let her describe.  She may not know some of the vocabulary at this stage.

In fact, we cannot effectively differentiate the intelligence / standard of the kids until P3 or P4.  You know, some of the kinders do teach P1 syllabus in K2 / K3.  Hence, some of the classmates may be relatively stronger in this aspect if they come from acadamic-oriented kinders.

Dear monkeydad,
my daughter haven't learnt calculations of two digits before. So she find difficulty in finishing the workbook this week. I was heard that some of her classmates have learnt it before so they can handle easily.
