Re: "Biomedical Treatment - Parents' Group "
Dommom,
!!! I thought I told you ... when my son got his first urine test, Aluminium is top of the list. Dr Trodd told me that we can get aluminium from rice cooker (the traditional one!!). From then on, I use ceramic (白磁碗) to "steam" rice for my son. To "steam" one or two bowls of rice won't take long, just extra work. On the other hand, my son prefers rice noodle to rice. And I use "corning"(康寧煲) to cook the rice noodle.
For the rest of the family, we still use rice cooker... 'cos we have a big family and my other kids are doing ok. I do check on the non-stick rice cooker regularly to make sure there is no scratch on it (you know the helpers.... : )
Also, you should avoid all the can drink for your son... to avoid aluminium can.
And most of the 紙包飲品 have those "metal like" coating INSIDE (if you cut up one of them, you'll see). I think you may avoid those for your son too.

Ladies - I have a question. My kid has a lot of aluminium that is affecting him. Last night, I met a mom who has a kid with excessive aluminium too. She blamed it on the rice cooker and I was shocked - how come I never thought of that!
When I learnt that teflon is no good, I changed the non-stick rice cooker to the traditional one with the traditional material - is that aluminium?
May I ask those of you whose kids have heavy metal toxicity - how do you cook your rice? |
