Re: 有冇收到kv o既 reject & waiting list信呀?
I agree with Felicia. If kids are given with proper guidance by experienced teachers, age-appropriate tasks should be seen as a means of helping to stimulate the kids' mind development. I always think that if you give pressure in the right way, it should act positively towards achieving the goal. So let's not too worry about KV's strict (or tough) teaching methods. The school has existed for so many years, there must be a great deal of merits about it.

lovingparent,
Yes, it's competitive. Very competitive out there, at school, in the society, this world. Face it at an early age and get adapted to it may be good... or may be bad. Who knows? Some people enjoy competitive environment. We, as parents, can only guide them to think positively but not to avoid the children from facing or getting involved in this competitive world.
Famous schools provide good training to their students which paved their way to higher education. Their teaching methods are proved to be successful.
Talking about KV, yes, some parents are aggressive and even revised with their children for assessments and tests. There are even past papers! Oh God. But some parents are quite relaxing. KV students may think the tests are just games to them. Good grades got stickers and small presents from teachers. Well, they have to face this sooner or later. Unless, you do not want to enroll your child to the traditional famous schools.
I prefer KV not only of its good teaching methods, but also its nice campus. How many kindergartens have such a nice and big outdoor playground for students to exercise and to breathe fresh air? How many kindergartens have flowers and grasses and trees around? How many kindergartens have fish pond, turtle pond?

Frankly speaking, I have decided to give up my daughter's seat at Kentville. Judging from the discussion here, I can have a picture of what kind of parents would send their kids to this school, and I really don't want my kid to grow up in such a competitive environment based on "brand names". I can imagine that parents at KV will be rushing around for primary schools at K3 and competing with each other for seats.
I just want my kid to build my her confidence and learn happily during her kindergarten years.
The good news is there is one space spare (out of the 600+ seats) for those on waitlist. [/quote] |
