入SIS 唔係需要英文interview??? 因我早前問過佢地, 佢地話要英文, 唔雖要流利, 但唔可以用中文回答問題.  咁你小朋友當初係怎樣interview??
希望你唔好介意我咁問. 我只係想了解多些SIS.

要interview, 佢當時表示淡定, 好lively,明白到老師簡單的要求, 如劃線, picture及或有小小英文讀字吧....

妳要堅強d呀! 不要那麼容易妥協! 小朋友返新學校喊是很平常. 妳仔他2歲唔喊唔等於4歲唔可以喊架! 可能佢現在識驚左, 又或者佢真係唔明老師同學講d麥…所以妳依家一定要幫幫佢渡過難關, 唔好放棄呀! 妳要相信佢好快便無事…不如妳依家想下有什麼方法幫下佢….例如問下老師佢的情況, 讓老師留意到佢, 可以多d同佢傾計; 早d返學帶佢周圍玩下, 例如睇下烏龜池, 玩下playground, 去丁圖書館等等! 放學帶d佢喜歡吃的食物去接佢放學, 買d小禮物比佢如果果日無喊, 當係鼓勵!

多謝你的鼓勵! 你的提意好好, 不過我要返工, 我只能夠放工後才可以同佢sharing.  

已同老師講了, 佢話佢以前未handling過唔識講及聽english 的小朋友, 佢這樣說, 我仲feel uncomfortable...

現在我是否要在家中同佢講下d日常英文單字呢? 我本身是一個無信心的人, 所以真係好大疑惑佢會唔會由一個唔識聽及講的小朋友, 以後會聽得明老師講什麼? 此終我覺得老師唔會教佢地單字只會一句句sentence咁講.

仲有佢地班同學仔, 老師話個個都識english的, 哎, 仔仔如何溝通呢, 會唔會被isolate 家? 越唸越多負面野....

I remember my girl cried almost everyday when she started PY1.  She is now in P3 and she loves going to school.  There are children who just take a bit longer to adjust to changes.  So don't give in to his wish or, worse still, give up altogether.  It sets a bad example.  I'm sure he will be OK.  You will be surprised by the speed at which young children pick up languages.  Of course, he can't become a native English speaker in one day.  But if you persevere for a while, you will definitely see the difference.  Just relax and don't think too much.  But make sure that he goes to school everyday and he will be fine.  Furthermore, it's a good thing for him to learn how to overcome difficulties.  It helps him to build up confidence.

除此之外，有無其他中學建議給我呢？

要開始報名，好緊張啊！

Fiancial condition is the key reason.
If he studies in a local school, we may save much money during his secondary school years.

港大同學會好似係新學校 (我指中學), 我對佢一無所知, 淨係知佢地adopt IB, 如你有更多具體資料, 不妨提供多一d 俾大家參考一下.

sorry Chanms, 我對呢間學校真係無認識, 幫唔到你. 只不過, 我個女既朋友仔, 佢daddy (half american)其實係某中學教英文的, 有一日佢同我傾開教育, 而佢提到自己幫個女選擇入讀呢間中學, 原因係佢相信呢所學校既教育理念, 再加上佢與港大裡某教授是好朋友, 所以佢對呢間0甘新既學校充滿信心而已.

MY husband knows those in the Foundation and we are convinced by their mission and vision.

Like most of the parents, however, we are concerned about the lack of track records. Thus I did not let my son go there in P3 a couple of years ago, albeit he was admitted.

This year I enrolled him for S1. Just a couple of days of orientation, I notice him has a significant improvement in spoken English. (Just imagine he is from traditional school which did not have the chance to speak so often).

He mentioned that there are SIS students and their Mandarin are particularly good (he did not say anything about their Eng standard).

No doubt my son likes the school. He is exacted about the school is going to form a Rugby Sevens Team, amongst other sports teams, etc.....

Thanks kkbbkk, florence and lonelypapa for the info about 港大同學會.

I may cosider to apply this school. However, our first choice is Jockey Club Ti-I College. My son likes drawing and design most.

So, I want to apply a DSS直資 school for backup purpose. But if a DSS school accepts our application, we may lose the chance for the gov't school...

Have you asked SIS office for what shools their students applied and allocated past few years.  Maybe you can get some advise from them.

Did you check with SIS if they accept your younger daughter to go to PY1 in coming Sept. as small girl?

剛剛係街撞到果個係SIS 讀小六 (而家升左港大同學會中學讀中一)既女生, 我問佢返左2星期學了, 開唔開心 ?  佢同我講非常非常開心, 佢話d功課可以應付到, 無問題, 而且佢既maths仲好好 (因為佢有讀kumon數, 仲已經去到中三既程度)    

p.s. 呢個小朋友好乖, 好有禮貌, 又叻女, 又靚     我個女大個好似佢0甘就好了....
