Any problems you or your girl encountered in the first month or weeks?

For my case, there was not much problem. I think the main reason is my daughter was SHC K/G student. She is familiar with the primary school premises and many P1 students were her old friends in K/G.  The few things she has to overcome are (i) to ensure all items of homework have been copied in the handbook correctly and completely; (ii) to be more independent as there is only one teacher teaching 42 girls; and (iii) cannot have nap time in the afternoon.

How much homework per day in terms of subject?

Normally, it's about 2 to 3 subjects per day and most of the days are two items per subject (if we count "correction" is another item). The no. of items may be more on Friday.  If my girl didn't fall into sleep when she's doing her home, she can finish within one hour.

So far, I feel the workload is not harsh. My girl still can continue her interest classes during weekday afternoon.

你以下既問題,我唔係好識點講,但我大女同細女既分別都幾大,我細女就明顯無乜功課,抄寫都唔多,隔幾日先有生字或copy book,默書都係隔一個星期一次,老師就跟得好貼,佢有少少唔妥,都可以同我通電話,關心

Thanks for the information.  I just want to understand what is "small-class-teaching" approach & its implications (+ve/-ve).  Any input is appreciated & thanks for your sharing.

So, do you mean 1 of your girls is in the a.m. & the other one in the p.m. session?

By reading your experience, I agree the work load is very reasonable.  Is it a consequence of the "small-class-teaching" approach where teacher can spend more time & effort on each student development .  As a result, student can accomplish more in the class & the learning can be more effective?

咁耐先覆你, sorry。

我個女三年級(p.m.)並不是用小班教學, 好似二年級開始先至係。

因為三年級D野開始深, 所以有時我見到佢都有D科目都無物信心, 不過, 我個女好怪, 如果個老師教得好, 佢就會好鍾意果科, 但係個老師教得唔好, 就會唔係咁鍾意, 所以佢會同我講, 二年級好鍾意中文, 唔鍾意數學, 但係三年級就鍾意數學, 唔鍾意中文

不過, 平均黎講, 聖心(p.m.)D課程真係幾深, 但係佢地D老師都教得幾好(個別老師除外), 所以我個女都識左唔少生字。

我發覺佢番學都幾開心架, 而且佢地學校真係幾多課外活動, 我個女就參加左小女童軍, 乒乓球, 單簧管。遲D可能去考泳隊, 不過, 參加四樣算啦, 太多我驚佢D功課追唔到呀! :-|

Anybody can tell me how many girls in AM & PM can be promoted to secondary school (SH) in these two years? I read on the web site of SC(AM). I find that there were only 10-15 students going to other schools. Most gisls will be promoted to secondary (SH). I don't know whether it is still common in these 2 years,

我自己就唔知上午班既情況, 但係係開學初期去過家長會, 校長黃修女就話上年下午校有成八成人都係讀返中學, 學你話齋, 有10-20個係讀其他學校, 不過, 根據黃修女講, 果D無升到中學既學生, 係唔楝聖心, 而揀其他既英文學校, 例如英華女校etc...而且就算係派到中文中學, 都會派番金文泰之類。

但係, 我就發現有一個現象, 雖然話有八成可以上番中學, 但係有好多學生, 根本由小一至小六, 就因為好多唔同既理由退學, 有D成績唔好, 有D轉校之類, 所以, 如果D小朋友可以由小一捱上小六, 佢基本上就可話係直升中學架啦。

Do you know the actual  number of SC (AM) promote to secondary SC, especially in these two years? the  information of website is outdated in SC (AM)

小女最近默左一次全課外讀默(即是不默書上課文, 而係無得讀, 要靠平時教識多D字, 無得溫果隻)

佢星期一就默左(鬼死咁快), 默左我都唔知, 重成日問佢, 你默書默邊課呀?重比我個女窒我 "媽咪, 都話默課外咯, 無得溫架, 默完啦"

你地有無試過呢D情形????

我大女以前20%係課外,80%係課內的,未試過默全部課外的,不過都好多年前囉

我有個問題好想知,聖心小學上午校係以乜途徑上中學既呢,下午校係第一輪自行,同第二輪搞珠,但私校係點決定邊d有得上,邊d無得上既呢,係咪都係同下午校一樣,有自行分配同搞珠架??      心血來潮想知
