有無家長日常只用中文同小朋友溝通,教英文單字,無用菲傭,讀主流班(有本地及外籍老師)每天上課,返了K1兩個月後,你們覺得他們英語有無進步,會否已學會一句你從無聽過的英語.我只覺囝囝學多了單字,但未會突然講一句你無聽過的英語.會否我要求高了,還是學校未達水準.

要小朋友學好英文，一定不能單靠學校，最好能有一個學習�運用英文的環境，小朋友才能有進步．
跟你一樣：我日常只用中文同小朋友溝通，有教英文單字，無用菲傭，讀普通幼稚園－一樣有本地及外籍老師．仔仔現已K3，單字係識好多，但都唔係好敢�肯講英文，有時重有ｄ抗拒，十月開始，我每天和仔仔玩15-30min english game，我發覺無論他在聽和講方便都有很大進步，你的小朋友才K1應該學得比我的孩子快．所以好媽媽，好好努力吧！

You're a working woman.  Right?

Then it is usual, because you have insufficient time to communicate with your kid.  

Besides, your kid has no necessities to speak English at all at home!

Rosaline is used to be brought up by filipino maid.  She could speak only single words or incomplete sentences in English during early N1.  

Once I was in the same case as you - doubted if the English standard of the school was good or not.

Until one evening at around Christmas, while my Bun Bun was in the toilet, Rosaline rushed out from her room and banged the toilet's door:-

Rosaline : May I go to the toilet please?  I want to small all all!! (in complete sentence!!)

I : 亞女做セ?

my wife : 佢想小便!!

I was really surprised.  I enquired her teacher and was informed that the school had already taught them some daily English usages (such as asking for allowing go to toilet) right at the beginning N1!! They didn't speak English at home because there was no such necessities!!

I remember that your kid is studying at Stafford.  Right?

Try to talk to the head teacher if you're in doubt.

Or,  we have to talk more with our kids to know what they're doing at school.

Don't relie solely on the school to train our kids.  We parents have to input much also.

But stay 'relax' at the moment.  I trust 'Stafford' is a good school.

如妳選擇一些每天都有外籍英文老師上英文堂的幼稚園，小朋友的英文程度比較好的，但這些幼稚園一般都不是非牟利的。

每日有一小時外籍老師上課,是牟利學校,所以諗緊應否轉校,但普通的又唔會日日有外籍老師.

agree on this point. 所以要制造一個環境 & need 比小朋友去學講英文.

我仔學校的英文老師 suggest 家長, 在家搵一個人專係跟小朋友講英文 (e.g. daddy/mummy, domestic helper, even係親戚都得). 而小朋友的發音準唔準確, 現階段並唔重要 (因為老師話會在學校幫忙糾正), 最重要係令小朋友習慣講英文.

我小朋友間幼稚園係非牟利幼稚園，學校一星期有2日係外籍老師上英文堂。聽我既小朋友講，校長都會同佢地講下英文故事，都唔錯。

其實非牟利學校有了學劵制,會否做到牟利學校咁每天有外籍老師呢?其實英文真係要日日有專人同小朋友溝通才可以,但老師教書,又唔係刻意同小朋友傾計,真係又可以學到幾多呢?轉唔轉回非牟利幼稚園真係好茅盾.

My son is studying Yau Yat Cheun School.  Non profit making.  School fee less than $24k a year.  有外籍老師.  English lesson around 30 mins everyday.

English lesson in school can train my son in listening.  However, talking about speaking English, I think my son gain more in his private lesson because of fewer students and therefore more chance to talk.

我昨天都致電又一村學校查問,但K1每星期有4天外籍老師上課,是否K2才每天都有外籍老師.可否講多少此校的情況如:功課,行政,當初你點解會選此校.
但我囝囝唔肯搭校車,要由馬鞍山帶仔返學都好遠.
