我覺得要看看小孩當天的表現, 你可以給孩子先試做sample test paper, 我當時是給女兒試做高一級的, 若孩子覺得有難度, 就降一級, 或看看那方面比較弱, 再鞭策.  我的女兒當時在listening比較弱, 就幫她降級, 使她有信心.

在考oral 時, 老師會分組討論, 考驗每位同學的表現.  這個時候要特別訓練小孩大膽, 不怕陌生人. 還要對考官有禮貌, 對答時要用完全句子. 如果考試是經學校報的, 通常就會將同一間學校分配同一組, 這樣小孩便有歸屬感了. 但我的女兒當時p5, 我不會對他期望過高, 考只是pass, 而班裏都比較少同學越級挑戰的.  但有幾個考quickmarch level 就 distinction.

London Test of English 於2005年由考評局引入，是給本地學生有多一個選擇，形式上跟Cambridge 有所不同，最大分別在oral & listening test 方面，LTE的oral test較相向，氣氛較輕鬆，包括小組討論及個人演講，跟中學會考oral exam 形式相似；   Cambridge 較簡單，與考官看圖討論而已；Trinity是純口試，沒有筆試；LTE可能是新朝流，因Cambridge對香港學生都較淺，係人都考；你知香港教育及面試模式啦，人人都識既就唔值錢；好似鋼琴，小提琴，最好識豎琴，夠特別。

Are they all listening/oral tests?  In addition, do you know which test similiar to what level/grade e.g. P.1, P.2 ...... P.6 onwards.

Long time no chat!

My son has just finished the Springboard written exam 3 days ago.

fyi, there're altogether 4 levels in the LTEfC (most suitable for children of age 8-13 according to Pearson's web), namely:

1. Firstword --> P1/P2
2. Springboard --> P3/P4
3. Quickmarch --> P5/P6
4. Breakthrough --> P6 or above

Each level has both oral exam and written exam (embedded with listening, reading and writing).

The grades awarded for the test are Distinction, Merit, Pass or Fail.

For children aged 14 or above, they can take London Test of English instead.
